Event Description

Confluence Networking announces a cutting-edge corporate discussion on blogging which will take place at the association’s monthly educational and networking event to be held November 11th. At 3PM the group will meet at Comedy Sportz, the educational venue host, located downtown Indy near the Mass Ave & College intersection. The facilitator, an avid blogger and evangelist for corporate blogging, is Erik Deckers hailing from Vision Direct (a local Direct Mail Organization) and he also serves as one of two Executive Vice Presidents for Confluence Networking.

Erik has engaged the following corporate bloggers to join him as panelists for the discussion: Mr. Chris Baggot of Compendium and one of the original founders of Exact Target; Ms. Rhoda Israelov of Say it For You; Mr. Kyle Lacy of Brandswag; Mr. Rodger Johnson of YourPRGuy.com; and Mr. Douglas Karr of Compendium.

Panel Discussion: “Why is Corporate Blogging Critical to a Company’s Success?”

Overview: You’ve heard so much over the past few years about the importance of web-presence and dynamic web 2.0 sites and now the latest buzz in the marketplace is blogging. The Confluence panel discussion brings together Indy’s best blogging talent to uncover why blogging is a critical component that needs to be prevalent in your 2009 corporate marketing initiatives. The group of executive-level panelists will share techniques on how to start your corporate blog, how to keep your corporate blog fresh, how to enlist contributors, and how to judge the market reception and key performance indicators of a successful blog.

At the conclusion of the one-hour panel discussion attendees will make a short walk to the open networking reception being held at fortyfive degrees, also located at the Mass Ave & College instersection. Open networking starts at 4PM, ends at 6PM and includes free high-grade sushi roll hors d'œuvres, a cash bar, and lots of executive-level professionals to network with.

The cost to attend the event is $15 if you register and pay online at: www.indyconfluence.com. Pre-registered guests will have a printed badge waiting on them, and will skip check-in procedures. Attendees that do not pre-register online will pay $20 at the door.

About Confluence: Starting in July 2008 the new networking association as entertained nearly 500 first-timers at its first three events, and retained 311 as new members. The mission of the organization is to reach professionals from mid-to-large sized Indianapolis-based companies through educational and networking initiatives. Confluence assembles only once per month, on the 2nd Tuesday at 3PM typically with an hour of education, and 2 hours of networking. Membership with Confluence is currently FREE! The only time you pay, is when you actually attend an event.

Special Holiday Event with Barry Krauss, former Indianapolis Colts Linebacker… Barry will be the keynote speaker at the organization’s December 9th holiday party. All are welcome. Tickets for the special holiday party are limited, and are available at www.indyconfluence.com. Pre-registered guests will pay $25, tickets may (or may not, if sold out) be available at the door for $30.

Hey Brett! I'm going to try to make this event. Will you be there? If so, I'd like to catch up with you regarding our cross promotion efforts and plans for 2009. If not, let's hook up sometime soon to discuss. Cheers, Denise
