Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I still can't pronounce it, but I remain fascinated by the concept and I look forward to witnessing the first ever Indy Pecha Kucha Night design presentations.

Smaller Indiana has purchased 8 tickets, which I'd like to donate to anyone who is willing to attend the show, take photos and blog about the experience. If you're interested, please add a comment to this thread. I'll take the first 8 folks who respond.

Also, I need help with video tape. If you have a good camera and are willing to shoot the event, please let me know. I want to capture each of the 14 presentations and post them on this site for all to see.

The event will take place in Gallery No. 2 at the Harrison Center for the Arts on Friday, February 1 from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. It will be an invitation only event with 60 tickets ($20) available.

To request a ticket you need to send an E mail to: pkindyinfo@gmail.com

We vectoring toward Peh-Kach-ka as the "official" pronunciation. But we're going to continue to kick-it old school with Pecha Kucha – pronounced the way its spelled.

Its going to be a great time – so grab a black turtle-neck and join us on Friday.

We have VIDEO. I have a high quality camera and a high quality man coming to record to presentations. Save us a seat near the front so we can set up a tri-pod and hear the sound!!

Now - wherefore art thou, bloggers?

Will do. It looks like WFYI and Nuvo may be recording as well – so we'll try to get everybody with camera a good position to capture the event.

Hey I would love to come to the event and blog about it afterwards. I received an invite from Janneane (KA+A) and wanted to attend, but was a little unsure - but once I joined Smaller Indiana (last night) I knew it was a must do kinda thing.

I have a pretty good camera too (Nikon D40 Digital) that takes pretty sharp photos.

I have my sisters in town that weekend who are also interested in coming - are there still tickets available?

Someone wrote to ask me what I want them to blog about. Here's my reply:

As for your blog, I have no pre-conceived notion. I’ve never seen these presentations before, so I’ll be interested in how they strike you, both in content and style.

You could focus on one presentation that you find particularly moving, or comment on the pros and cons of the format, or talk about the people in attendance / the vibe of the crowd…or even what you would want to present if YOU were doing a pecha kucha presentation.

And bring a camera if you can. Hope this helps!

Myself and Colin Wiens were planning on attending anyway. I would love to blog about it.
