Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I wanted to offer this event on Green Building. The symposium is geared to design professionals and commercial building owners/managers. In its second year, it provides information and education on creating buildings that use less energy and are better for the environment. Check it out: www.indianabuildinggreen.org

Luke,
I would really love to attend this event, however I will be in DC on both of those days. I work in the construction industry and I am working toward my LEED accreditation. Would there be sometime where you and I could come together to talk about green building? I would love to get your input. I will be traveling a great deal over the next three weeks, but then I could meet you for lunch or coffee or something to get your perspectives.
Let me know. I really want to hear the outcomes of this event.

I would like to join you guys for coffee. Green building and architecture are merely side interests of mine, but I would like to hear some real insight.

The more the merrier. Even if Kevin can't meet, I am always looking for someone to discuss green building with.
I just started a new group called Greener Indiana. I haven't done anything with it yet but if you would like to contribute, just click on groups and you should find it there.

Chris,
That would be great. I'm always trying to network with people around Indiana who focus on green buildings. Lets shoot for Feb 7th or 8th.

I will still be traveling until the 10th. Can we meet sometime after that?

Extremely cool site Luke. I think there is a very strong relationship between green buildings and 'Futuring.' See the new Smaller Indiana group called 'Future Indiana.' Need to get a local links page organized first, but I'll be adding a link to your site somewhere on my www.futureindiana.com site.

I am on the board at a conference/retreat center in Strongsville, Ohio called Angel House. We are seeking to expand by constructing a building with classroom/gathering space. We would like the project to be a model for sustainable living. I am in charge of power, heat and light. Do you have any connections that could come to play in this effort? It will be the first building of its kind in Strongsville and the southwest suburbs, so we are hoping companies are looking for a foot hold to model their wares. There is a lot of potential for building a wave with media attention.

Chris,
Give me a call. I am active in the design and construction of sustainable facilities througout the midwest. Depending on where you are in the process I'm sure there are people who can help you.

If any of you are interested, there is an event at the IMA this Thursday, Feb 7 about Urban Greening. I don't really know what to expect beyond what I've read here, but it certainly sounds interesting enough to check out.

Luke,
I am finally back from travels. Would you have some time to get together to discuss green building?
Let me know.
