Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I am a retired web / datacenter developer. I had a successful internet / datacenter business since 1994 and retired 2004.

I have now started to build within the new virtual world enviroment. I see this as the next big wave on the internet. 3d virtual worlds are growing fast now and many people have plans or looking for funding to build a virtual world.

What I have currently is an operational virtual world, much like second life, using the same client software as second life. I started this back in dec 2007. There is now over 1500 members. The virtual world sells land within the world. People can build homes, business and advertising centers on this land. The virtual worlds are great for education as many universities are now moving into these worlds.

The virtual world system is running on aprox 22 dedicated servers located at the Databank Datacenter in Plano Texas. The front end and web database system is in Ft Lauderdale, FL Datacenter. We have some websites in Savvis Datacenter in Dallas Tx.
The current income form land sales and maintaince fees are covering the expenses. And has been since January.
The virtual world now has a google page rank of 5, alexa ranking of aprox 770,000 and is ranked in the top 5 of all second life type virtual worlds. Some keywords like "Virtual World Grids" - "Connecting Virtual Worlds" we are #1 in google. I understand search engines well, and have been able to move quickly to the top.

I started the development in 2000. Now It is an Indiana C corporation started 2005.

My goal is to find a partner to take this to the next level.

There is alot more than just a virtual world grid that I am looking to develop. I also see the need for a dedicated search engine for all virtual world business. (I sold a search engine in 1998 to lycos) I have a new system up and this project is 80% completed at this time.

A virtual world city system for cities to show off its local businesses in a 3d format. My idea is to get city chamber members to purchase the city and then rent space to its business members. We can replicate a city with buildings roads etc.

Plus the ability to sell and develop full virtual worlds for anyone. I have now a private label system to clone my virtual world easily. And have 2 groups now using this system

I have what it takes to build the systems, but need a ceo / partner to add the business expertise that i am lacking.

I am located in Terre Haute, but I recently purchased a home in Mooresville, where we will be moving soon.

If you would like more details, please give me a call 812 652 4846

Thanks
Frank

Frank, is your CEO/partner supposed to be self-funding, or are they going to make a salary? Or will they receive a payoff once your company makes it big? What kind of business expertise are you looking for, marketing, finance, operations?

Im looking for someone to be a ceo/partner. Salary can be part of the opportunity if the sales can accomodate it. We are currently just covering the expenses. But we also are not doing any advertising at all. With a marketing plan we should see larger sales volume.

This is also a large business market now with investors. With many venture capital groups looking to invest into this type of virtual world business. If we can create a good business plan to present to them, we can be well funded right away.

I am technical, not at all the presenter or business plan creator.

Frank,

I live and operate my business in Camby; would you like to get together next week sometime?

Another person that you should probably get in touch with is Matt Theobald, who I'm sure would be great for conversation on your Virtual World...

Bruce,

We are not part of second life, we use the second life open source platform on our own servers. So we are also looking bigger than second life.

I will check out communities of the future.

Thanks

Yes Tim this is all possible in a virtual world.

What we have is a Second Life type virtual world. We actualy use the Second Life Viewer for access into our world.

One of our projects is to build virtual world cities.

We have now 48 servers in 3 top internet datacenters, we have programmers and 3D builders on staff.

We have grown alot since May 30 when I wrote this message.

We have now 2365 Active Members.
