For the third time in as many years, Indianapolis is putting the finishing touches on what has become the largest single day marketing conference in the Midwest. Packed with 23 speakers, 18 sessions, and 3 tracks, this year’s event is sure to meet the unique needs of marketers at all levels.

Huh. The very fact that I cannot figure out whether or not this reply area constitutes the MBO "group message board" should serve as a clear indication of my dire need for your educational offerings. As Director of Marketing for a large central Indiana nonprofit, I know we are (I am) well past the witching hour for getting on board that speeding "Social Network" express train. In short, we are not utilizing online marketing efforts and I know it is effecting our agency adversely. We need to reach younger volunteers...We need to garner younger donors...and I, most definitely, need your expertise in order to help my agency find -- and capture! -- these young moving targets. Would I like to attend your MBO conference? Oh, yeah. Would my CEO love for me to win a free ticket? You betcha!

I am a consultant, trainer, speaker and writer with a focus on ecommerce. I've been helping small businesses market their products and services online since 1997. I've participated in online marketing from banner ads and email spam, to the current PPC and social media focus, and everything in between. The online world changes fast, so I need to continually stay up to date. It’s not a matter of how online marketing affects my business, online marketing is my business.

Most of my clients are outside Indiana. Lately I have put more of a focus on local networking to build a local client base. SmallerIndiana.com, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn have helped me to change my focus to local, but I really need to learn from local experts to reach an optimal online marketing balance.

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.
