Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

The Indiana Ballet Company would like to wish Smaller Indiana a happy 5000 membership 'birthday' this week by offering free tickets to their original production of From Shakespeare with Love at the Athenaeum Theatre this weekend. The first five Smaller Indiana members to contact us at the number below will receive two tickets each to the performance of their choice this weekend. All other members are entitled to receive 25% off regular ticket prices only (does not include packages with restaurants or hotels).

If you are a nurse, educator, firefighter, member of the police, or offer some other service to the local community, we would encourage you to call us to receive our very special "Community Hero" deal. We understand how much you give to the community and would like to help brighten your world in turn. Please call us also for special corporate group and small business owner rates that are not listed on the website.

Using the Shakespeare sonnets as a springboard, From Shakespeare with Love explores love in all its many aspects. Just as the Bard's words speak to us down the centuries and across the globe, this original creation of the Indiana Ballet Company's Artistic Director, Alyona Yakovleva, reaches through history to weave together a timeless connection and expression of love through the universal language of dance.

Utilizing diverse choreographic styles, periods and musical selections, including live performance of period music by the Dragon Scale Consort, and Shakespeare readings by local award-winning playwright, director and actor, Daniel Fenton, From Shakespeare with Love will enchant lovers all: lovers of literature, dance, music and romance.

When: March 20th 8:00 PM, March 21st 2:00 PM and 8:00PM
Where: Athenaeum Theatre, 401 E. Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN 46204

I may have to see this show. I'm doing a new mind reading magic effect with the Complete Works of Shakespeare.

Sounds very Cool. If you come on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. (or better still, dinner at the Rathskeller just before the performance) I'll try to introduce you to Tim Hardy. He has worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company, is on the faculty of RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts) and has performed all over the world. He has been so gracious as to work with our actor for From Shakespeare, along with Terri Bourus, Associate Professor of English Drama and Director of the IU Center for the Study of Early Modern Drama. Tim will be in Indiana for a few weeks and I highly recommend that you check out all his offerings while he is here. I'll post that later, when I get the literature on where and when. I do know he will be doing something on Shakespeare at IRT.
