Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Once again this year I am coaching Varsity cheerleading at The Indianapolis Metropolitan High School. I was just informed that our athletic budget is literally ZERO dollars! We currently practice on a concrete floor and have uniforms that are stained with no school letters of anything printed on them. My girls already have overcome home obstacles and this team for them is the way that they express themselves, let alone it pushes them to do better in school and keeps them form less desirable afterschool activities. I feel for them when we travel to games and cheer against girls with brand new gear, years of gymnastics experience, etc. I do my best to pump them up the ways I can...but unfortunately the truth is that MONEY would help that a lot.

I would like to get gym time with an instructor and on safe floor, new uniforms, etc.

PLEASE HELP with ideas for company sponsors, grants, fundraisers (keep in mind there is not a large financial pool for them to ask from)!!! If we get enough, I would like to provide a couple student buses throughout the year so teh basketball team can have a crowd. This is currently an issue because our students and families come from all over the city and the majority are city bus riders.

Any help is greatly appreciated. beckyreich@sbcglobal.net

Hi Becky,
I don't get on this site as much as I would like to but tonight for some reason I did. I read your post. I CAN help you. The name of my business is Sweet Poppin's. I'm located in Kokomo. Sweet Poppin's is a gourmet flavored chocolate covered popcorn that comes in flavors such as Cheesecake, Pralines & Cream, Lemon Pound Cake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Covered Strawberries. The Kokomo High School cheerleaders just finished up a fundraiser not too long ago. They were so excited to be selling the popcorn. The band will be starting a fundraiser next week.
When I read "My girls already have overcome home obstacles and this team for them is the way that they express themselves, let alone it pushes them to do better in school and keeps them form less desirable afterschool activities", I knew I wanted to be a part of their success. Not only can I help you and your team reach their financial goals, but I can inspire them as well. Please email me at swtpoppins@att.net. You can view the popcorn at www.sweetpoppins.com There are several people on this site who can vouch for the product. When you email me, I'll give you my cell so that we can talk. Please email as soon as you can because I may be able to introduce myself to some of your girls this weekend. Thank you.

Becky,
I have something that is working for people now but it is not a quick fix for this year. It will take about 6 months to really build it, but once you do it will bring in a nice residual income for you for years to come. Check out the link www.energypresentation .com

It looks like you have had some really great ideas. If you are still looking for fundraiser ideas - you could try a simple Tupperware fundraiser. With Tupperware the group keeps 40% of the profits, and the holidays are right around the corner. Tupperware make great holiday gifts. As a Tupperware consultant, I helped a friend hold a Tupperware Fundraiser. One person turned in an order for the team and the team kept over $100 for just that person's order. Your profits of immediate and the process is very simple. If you would like more information email me at tjrumpel@att.net
