No, the government should keep their hands off. This is a textbook case of what the First Amendment was meant to protect against.

Some of the Wikileaks contributions may be circumspect at best, illegal at worst, but those issues are between the contributor and his/her source (like the ex-Cayman Islands bank employee who stole company information and posted it). But that does not justify an entire government shut down of the site.

I think this case will go to the Supreme Court before it's over, and I can see the Court siding with the pro-First Amendment camp.

Like Erik said, it's all about the First Amendment. The Government should keep their hands off. Period. Agree or don't agree with the site, it doesn't matter.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
