Should Mitch Daniels Run for President?

Why would lease a toll road to a company that might fail? Why would we bailout companies who have documented histories of poor business practices?

There is a difference between shrewd and shady. I think Mitch made a very shrewd decision to lease the toll road, if for no other reason than I doubt we'll be driving cars on 4 wheels for that long.

Oh, I know he said he wouldn't, but I wish he WOULD. A sane man with good business acumen is hard to find in the world of politics. Being a governor is excellent preparation for presidency, and Mitch has been an excellent governor. Maybe if we come up with that third moderate party...

I don't agree with many of the things that Mitch Daniels has done as governor. I would not support him as president.

Also, the Republican party is such bad shape that there is no one person that can bring it back to the power and influence that it once had. It is going to take some self-examination, hard work, and time for the Republican party if it wants to survive.

Mitch Daniels is an extremely intelligent and great leader. One of the best things about him: He is honest. He will not just tell you something because you want to hear it. He will say and do the hard things if they are the right things. I have been extremely impressed by his work with Indiana and with personal interactions with him. People who work closely with him (and people who may not even necessary agree with his views) at the very least respect him.

I think he would be a great president but I read somewhere that he has promised his family that he is finished with the political life after his term as gov. ends. He is tough and he is determined and he did really well when he was in Washington, before.

I think anyone who has something to offer the country should run. Why not Mitch Daniels? I voted for him in the last election and I would give him consideration for President.

How many jobs has this state lost under his watch? An unemployment rate that we haven't experienced in decades? I'll pass.

Mitch has said publicly that he will not run. I don't expect him to go against his word. Libertarians have nothing to lose and everything to gain in 2010 and 2012. We could actually see a *GASP* 3 party system! Keep in mind that a Republican hasn't been elected President without a Bush or Nixon on the ticket since 1929. There are no rock stars left in the party. Well.. other than Jeb Bush who recently turned down a 2010 Senate run. I doubt we'll see a run from him in 2012, but maybe in 2016...
