Senior Database Developer
Our company provides satisfaction measurement and improvement services for the health care industry. The company also provides patient satisfaction, safety culture, employee perspective, physician satisfaction, and resident satisfaction solutions. It helps health care facilities in collecting and using patient, resident, employee, and physician evaluations. The company offers InfoTurn, a system of survey printing, mailing, and processing, which offers typesetting, printing, folding, inserting, mailing, survey scanning, and data processing services. Our company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in South Bend, IN.
Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position are is to participate in the design, development, support, and administration of both production and development databases. Other responsibilities include:
• Assisting software development teams in creation of complex queries.
• Designing databases to meet software requirements.
• Analyzing database performance and making recommendations for improvements.
• Testing and evaluating new database features and technology, as well as development work to support data reporting, manipulation, and extraction.
• May lead and direct the work of others.
Education and Training Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or technical discipline.
• Minimum 4-6 years of IT experience.
• 3 years as a Database Administrator and/or Database Developer.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge of the relational model and normal form.
• Significant experience with relationship databases such as DB2, Oracle. and/or MS SQL.
• DB2 experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must be fluent in SQL, and a scripting language such as Perl and/or Unix shell script.
• Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Be able to write technical documents that are cogent and accessible.
• Self-starter and team player.
