Warning! I'm rambling here...

It's because of twitter and other such sites where we have to set up names that I've started to like my name. Having a name like Marla was a real drag when I was a kid. I could never find things like personalized stationary, mugs, pencils and other things that girls with names like "Jennifer" always seemed to have. It's turned out to be a good thing because there aren't a lot of Marlas around to steal my name. I didn't have any competition when I set up a personal website called theworldofmarla.com

So it took a long time for me to get around to saying "thanks, mom!" for that somewhat rare name.
