Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

We're relocating to Indianapolis but want to rent for a year before buying. I've searched Craig's List, SocialServe, Indy Star, Nuvo, etc. to find a rental. It is amazing how awful some of these properties are. Anyone know of quality listings of rental properties for professionals in quiet neighborhoods?

I'm specifically looking to lease approx. Nov. 1 in a central location from 56th St. north to 86th St., at a reasonable price (no apartments or duplexes and will accept dogs).

Thanks in advance for the advice!

I'd continue searching Craigslist while you are looking for your new place. You could also try contacting a Realtor. Or try Talktotucker.com - they have a powerful online search eangine that allows you to specify that you are looking for a rental. Another idea is to ask your employer for a little help in targeting rentals in the neighborhood you are targeting. Good luck and welcome to Indy!

You may want to contact a friend of mine who owns National Tenant Network. Even though they do the screening of tenants for rentals, he has several relationships with reputable owners of rental properties and owns several himself. His name is John Spafford and his number is 317-579-3520. It is at least a place to start.

BTW, welcome to Indianapolis area!
