When you take a vacation, do you stay in Indiana? If so, where is your favorite place to go?

I tend to travel out-of-state to combine vacation with visiting my family in North Carolina, but there are many places in Indiana I enjoy visiting for day trips or overnights.

Just to list a few:

Turkey Run State Park
Shades State Park
Prophetstown State Park
Spring Mill State Park
Milltown, IN (For canoeing at Cave Country Canoes)
New Harmony, IN
French Lick/West Baden Springs
Knobstone Trail/Delaney Creek Park (near Salem)
Leavenworth, IN (Overlook Restaurant and B&B)

I particularly enjoy hiking and love the rolling hills of southern Indiana.

Have you ever been to Bluespring Caverns? It's about 30 minutes from Spring Mill State Park and, although you can't hike it (you ride in a boat in the world's longest underground river), it's a very cool tour!

Our office went on a trip there last year and I brought my wife down there earlier this fall and she loved it.

I've been there - it was really cool! I also like Marengo Cave.

I think Ellen nailed it with the list of state parks. Turkey Run, Brown County, and Spring Mill probably top the list. Yellowwood & Deem (though not SPs) are also high on the list. Also LOVE visiting Nashville to just browse & soak in the atmosphere.
