March 27 Update:

1. Calling all Indiana Bloggers…
BlogIN (un)conference registration is now open

Anyone interested in learning more about how to blog, why to blog and meet other bloggers should attend Smaller Indiana’s BlogIN on April 26, 2008. Bloggers from around the state will share best practices, tips, tools, case studies, and strategies for successful blogging. Whether you are an experienced blogger or a blogging beginner, join us for an afternoon as we explore blogging as a tool to build community, culture and commerce in Indiana.

Event Details

Sponsored by Smaller Indiana, and hosted at the IUPUI School of Informatics, BlogIN 2008, a Blogging “Unconference”, will be held Saturday, April 26 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. We will begin with presentations from some of Indiana’s own “rock star” bloggers. These experienced bloggers will share how they blog, why they blog and what blogging has done for them personally and professionally. After keynote presentations we will move into the (un)conference portion of the program.

What’s an Unconference?

Unlike a typical conference where the agenda is set-in-stone prior to the event, at an unconference the audience gets to set some of the agenda. Prior to the event we will allow attendees to submit ideas for things they want to learn, or things they can volunteer to teach. We will organize all these ideas into a schedule of sessions, and attendees will be able to choose the sessions that best fit their needs.

How to get involved

Please complete the registration process to reserve your spot in the Blog IN. As part of the registration process you will be asked if you are interested in leading a session. Please share your thoughts.

2. Help promote Smaller Indiana - join us for our Blog IN Stunt on the Circle - April 14 from Noon to 1pm - all Smoosiers should be on Monument Circle wearing blue or yellow and carrying their laptops -- we're staging a "blog IN" demonstration to gain awareness for the event.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the mass comment, but I'm hoping this group can help.

We are building a national field sales force and was hoping you might have some referrals to send my way.

We also have several client facing positions here in Indy for people to work with our existing clients.

Thanks,

YOU can help make this a success. Leading up to World Poverty Day, bloggers world-wide will participate in Blog Action Day by dedicating October 15th’s postings to raising awareness about global poverty. We encourage participating bloggers to register their blogs and for all to read these entries and make a public declaration of your commitment to ending world poverty. To register your blog and/or to find out which blogs are participating, visit BlogActionDay.org

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to attend the (un)conference. I have found our Aussie bloggers, particularly PRBlogger has helped me blog better. Will there be another (un)conference?

The Unconference was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and very worthwhile to me personally. What made it a good experience? High quality speakers who had something to say and were well able to say it. Not every subject matter expert can talk to non-experts but these people could. I am a big fan of structure in group experiences and the unconference lack of advance structure put me off a little bit but that part turned out fine. Not only was there no time wasted, there was so much content provided my brain was on overflow long before the afternoon was over. Great job everybody involved! Lets do it again!!!!!

I am attending the BlogIn tomorrow but have not been to the School of Infomatics before. Mapquest shows the building but not a parking lot I can recognize. Where do you park?

The event is for both Rookies and expereinced bloggers. We will have a few short formal presentations, and a series of informal conversations facilitated by any interested conference attendee.

Doug Karr is going to cover Blogging 101 and Eric Deckers is going to talk about witting for Blogs.

I am excited about this as an "intermediate blogger" I am hoping to learn a little about new technologies, talk with other bloggers who use their blogs primarily to build traffic to their sites.
