There's always been lots of talk about great burgers. Let's get down and serious about it now. No restrictions, but lots of criteria. We need descriptions of WHY it's a great burger.

Review-Barringer's Burger

Now for the review: I told the waitress I wanted to hear about their cheeseburger. She started out by saying it's 10 oz of fresh ground beef, not frozen. Good start. So I ordered it with lettuce, tomato [extra charge], bacon [extra charge] with mayo on the side. Next did I want pepper jack, Swiss or American. Pepper jack, of course. I asked for sauteed onions, she said sure. Then she cautioned me that they take about 15 minutes and asked me how I'd like it cooked- medium and juicy of course.. The friendly folks from the group made the time fly. The burger arrived presented as Nicki's photo shows. It was terrific. Juicy, sloppy, tasty-just what I'd want in a burger. The cheese was melted just enough that, along with the onions, The bun was not noticeable, and that's a good thing. The bun should either be benign or really attract your attention in a positive way. [Which has only happened once as I can recall]
If you are really needing a burger fix, Barringer's would make an excellent choice. Definitely a 9+ rating.

When you walk into Scotty's Brewhouse you notice that this is a sports bar, and a very popular one. At 12:30 on a Friday afternoon, it was bustling. TV Sets and memorabilia are all over the place...

I'm heading down to Alabama next week. I'll leave comments of local burger joints as I go through the week. There's a venison burger I want to try.

I've been away for a week. In Dallas you can probably get a killer burger, but the bar-b-cue brisket is special there, so that's what I did. I'm in a burger deficit now and will be having a BurgerQuest tomorrow, October 16 at Scotty's Brewhouse Downtown at 12:30. Let me know if you think you can make it either by messaging here or Twitter @davisr66

Sure, I love to eat and brag about finding the next cool spot. Plus, I'm well known for my opinions and my performances.

Shoup's Hogburger will be featured on QVC on Sunday evening August 9th at 6:00pm. The Shoup sisters from Indiana will be guest hosts on the program. Tune in to support your fellow Hoosiers. Also, stop by the Indiana State Fair Grandstands (Section 6) to taste this new burger.

Indeed I've heard of Moonshine, IL. I'm hoping to make it over there myself sometime this summer or fall. Here's a website: http://www.clarkcountyil.org/Communities/moonshine.htm If anyone's interested in a fall trip, let me know. Our next Burger Quest outing, tentatively, will be Friday, July 31 at the Mug 'n Bun Drive In on West 10th Street at Lynhurst Drive, 1:00 PM. I'll verify that midweek.

Has anyone else been over to Moonshine, IL for a Moonburger? I've been over 3 times now, and it's just awesome. Great one day road trip!
