Making people and ideas findable

Well - after going to the best commercial sales job I have ever had, I was laid off last week. Now I am back in the market for a sales position that I hope will be my last.

I am attaching my cover letter and resume. Perhaps someone can help.

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

Very sorry to hear of your recent lay off. In my work, personal finance, I see this more often, as displaced employees are referred to me. I don't know if you may be open to working as an independent contractor, but if you have a desire to control your income and career, let me know. I have been self employed for 18 years now, after being down sized 5 times! I will be happy to meet with you to see how you may be able to transfer your skills to working in personal finance. Please visit my website at www.primerica.com/jwharrisjr
Also, if you are not familiar with Business Professional Exchange (BPE), I encourage you to check them out. It is an organization designed to help people that are looking for jobs and careers, in many ways. I am a resource member with the Greenwood and Bloomington Chapters. www.bpeindy.org is the website.

To your success!

Steve, I am sorry to hear you lost a job that you meant so much to you. Maybe God has something even better for you! If you have not found a position by 9-9-09, please come out to the Chocolate Blues (details under 'events' and bring a few copies of your resume. There will be hundreds of business owners there and you are welcome to spend the entire day, shaking hands, and making connections. Hopefully someone there will be able to help you.

Shelly, can you send me some promo material on the Chocolate Blues Festival?

Steve, you'll probably make the Chocolate Bles Festival a standard after going there to network for the sake of employment. It's so much fun!
