Making people and ideas findable

Hey everyone,

So far a great response! This is what I was hoping for!

This is what I had in mind:

4-5 sets of corn hole with 4 people at each set. There would be a sign up for the events so I can cap it off at 20-24 depending on how many sets we have.

Each round could be the best out of 3 games or a certain time limit. After every game the members rotate to get to know everyone at their set. The idea is to get to know the person playing on the same side as you during that particular game. After 3 games or the time limit, everyone rotates to a new board to meet 3 new people until everyone has met everyone.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the way I understand how to play the game is the first team to 21 wins, 3 points in the hole, 1 point on the board, scores cancel out (for example if team A makes 1 in the hole and 1 on the board and Team B puts 3 on the board, the score for that round is Team A 1. ) To speed it up, we could play all points count. So that round would be Team A: 4 Team B: 3

I have access to 2 nice sets, anyone else have a set? Any ideas of where we could play? Indoors of course until the weather is nice enough to go outdoors.

Good thoughts, Will.

Here's an idea to turn this into a charity event while we network and have fun: if participants each contributed say $5, we could have some drinks and refreshments, and give the rest to a charity. Figure 20-24 people, that's $100-$120 each time, take away a little for cokes, water, cookies or whatever. The rest can go toward a non-profit agency of choice.

anytime you "suggest" people pay, you will lower the number of people who show up.

plus, some may give $5, others more or less. i don't think adding this would be a good idea myself.

will,

i have a guy here locally that makes them, but he doesn't make them very often. if you really need some, i can see what his timeframe is, or maybe have him instruct my brother on it, and we can make them...they are excellent boards though.

let me know.

oh, and as far as a location, i'd prefer southside myself. i'm in southern indiana, moving to just north of martinsville. anything other than the southside would rule my brother and i out most likely (he's really good too).

Hey Will,
I personally think we should just have a time limit and play the regular way... Just my opinion...

Oh and I am for the northside, because I would NEVER make it to the southside....

Southsider as well. Doesn't look like there is enough interest yet in this group to split it into two groups...maybe eventually.

It would seem that some churches have large open gathering areas, and some are attached to schools where the gym could possibly be used for indoor locations at least during winter. I might be able to set something up at my church, and I have a set. But I'd like to see something like 5 sets going and at least 10 people show up....
