Have you tried the new Pikks Tavern that replaced the original Adobo location. It's good.

I posted this over in the wine group, too. Anyone else taking the Master Court intro somm exam? If so, let me know -- I'd be happy to do a study night. I'm doing a lot of extra review on French classifications.

I have a post going up later today on what higher end chains are doing to promote "value" and still keep their check averages up. Peter Romeo over Nation's Restaurant News says it's the McCormick and Schmick's model. It's absolutely why the bar menus (or "values") solve the problem of keeping food costs efficient and drawing you in to order something better. Last time I was at M&S, you could smell that crab dip from across the room. (I know, I know, what was i doing ordering the $2.99 crab dip to begin with.)
