Making people and ideas findable

As Dads Inc. tries to stay on the forefront of communication, I'm wondering if we're overlooking any vehicles. How do you like info on non-profits you support to be communicated to you? What are some interesting techniques that you've seen other NPs use?

A number of our clients are non profits and I do some pro bono marketing work for a non profit.
Our clients use CDs and DVDs. Some of the messages are video production on a DVD which is packaged in a simple paper sleeve with window and flap. Other organizations use full color board stock packaging. Some of the organizations have us mail the discs to individuals while others make them available on their web site or hand them out at functions.
We receive direct mail pieces from non profits all of the time, while others go with an opt in e-mail approach

Hi Chris.

If you are analyzing your communciation plan, I think you should start first with segmenting your audience and secondly defining your message. There are a lot of options for communication devices these days but the choice of the vehicle should be dictated by the audience and message.

So, what do you plan to communicate and to whom?

Thanks, guys. We are currently working with Firebelly to make a video that we'll burn to DVDs. As for what we want to communicate, upcoming programs, fundraisers, and major announcements. Our audience is fathers who are in our target demographic, and low and high dollar donors,
