Making people and ideas findable

I got a hankerin' for some Chinese last night. I know my fave spots in Evansville (Taste of China, Golden Buddha), and China Wok in Petersburg is so awesome it's worth going out of your way for. But I'm CLUELESS about good spots in Indy! Yelp.com users seem to favor some place called Hong Kong. I've asked the Twitosphere, but y'all strike me as a more trustworthy panel of judges, and certainly haven't steered me wrong so far. What's the word, Smoosiers?

There's Thai Taste in Castleton. I've been there a couple times and it's really good.

I'm slow on the draw here but we like Yen Ching on 421 north of 86th and just south of 465. Sit down, table cloths, great food and very friendly people.

Yen Ching also has a location on East Washington just before Post Road. We go for lunch often. Pot stickers are very good.

Hong Kong Inn at 38th and Franklin has been a family favorite for years. Their egg rolls are the best! We usually order dinner for two (with extra egg rolls), and it easily feeds our family of 4 with leftovers. Call for carryout you won't believe how much food you get! Cloth tablecloths and napkins. The volcano mixed drink for four packs quite a kick!

Sawasdee has the best Thai in the area. There's plenty of other good places but theirs is the best quality & price.

As for old-time ambiance and great food, you can't beat Oriental Inn on Arlington (http://www.orientalinnrestaurant.com).

For great sushi at a reasonable price, the best deal is The Journey on 96th street in Fishers. I know it's a buffet but it's much more than that and their evening menu has sashimi and other delicacies. It's well worth the time, money and effort.

If you'd like dim sum, Great Garden over on the west side (3623 Commercial Dr - by Saraga) is the place to go.

For a general oriental buffet, WTT Buffet & Grill (4873 W. 38th Street) on the west side is new and quite surprising. They have items only available there (snails, for one) and an amazing touch with seasonings.

There are lots of other places out there depending on your location but these are the ones that are my favorites and that I am constantly recommending to others.

IMHO, If you're talking Thai, the best Thai in town - hands down - is Siam Square in Fountain Square. The food can be a little on the expensive side, but worth it. They also have a constantly changing, reasonably priced selection of beer and wine by the glass.
