Making people and ideas findable

Alex Maurer

What's your take on the weekly economist's "three" necessary reforms?

Here's two links where the article can be found. It is from the IBJ.com and Howey Politics.

I always find myself sort of shaking my head a little when I read Morton's columns. Maybe it's because if I had my way, our society would be a little more socialistic and Morton always seems so libertarian to me. Education is necessary, yes. Always. And yes, I do think it typically crushes independent thinking, which is a pity.

I don't claim to know much about economics, though, so I don't feel in a position to comment on Major Moves and the economic benefit of leasing instead of selling.

But I'm not sure that the General Assembly is a problem. The opposite can happen, which the IBJ reported on, with Carl Drummer and Center Township. It was a case of an unchecked local government creating it's own "fiefdom." It created quite an outrage, as I recall, that he went unchecked for so long, that there wasn't enough oversight.
