What a great birthday present this weekend, Cubs baseball. Should ease the sting from the Indiana U. men's basketball season. :( Now to find my shirt.

Yesterday's top of the 6th might have been the ugliest inning of play that I have ever seen. I was disgusted and turned off the TV. Done with the Cubs. But I'm back today. Isn't how that always works? On a side note: I was in Detroit last Thursday and saw Fox in person. He looks like a player (I mean hitter). Great addition to an AL team for DH purposes. As much as we like him or the Hoff, you have to play a position in the majors and the Cubs are long-term committed at the corner IF/OF spots. Those two along with Wells are our most attractive trading chips at the deadline.

Who do we go after? What do we need?

DeRosa to the Cards.......man I hated to see that......prays that doesn't bite us.

The Cubs need to pick up the offense if they are going to make the Pennant this year! In typical fashion they pick up a great offensive player in Milton Bradley, who is on the DL early in the season then jumps in weak, hitting .183 so far! Comon' Lou, get those Cubbies moving!

after a bit of a rough patch they seem to have things going well now. 7-3 in the last 10, including that game against the giants where they didnt seem to try to win. facing last years NL Cy Young winner they ran out a lineup of only 3 everyday players, 2 of which werent playing their everyday positions. If they can get Soto batting a little better they should be in fine shape

I agree with your blog Kevin, wouldn't be happier to see Lee NOT in that 3-h*** the rest of the year and Aramis needs more AB's. The difference between hitting 3rd and hitting 5th is about 50 AB's season (less) for your best hitter.
