Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Gail had a great idea of having a virtual Indiana business fair. I am going to make this happen although this will not be a good excuse to miss the actual Indiana Small Business Fair, as it is going to be great! We are looking to have close if not more than 2000 people attend. Ok, so to get the virtual business fair going I would appreciate help with the following;

1. Suggestions on what you would like to see on the virtual fair site?
2. I would like some non bias people to help monitor the business information that would be posted on the site. any volunteers?
3. I think it would be great to have informational videos to accompany any text regarding specific categories. What do you think?
4. Who has a business that they would like to place their information on this website?
5. Do you think this is as good idea as I do?

I want businesses that would like to be listed to understand, the goal of this virtual fair site would be to provide educational and information to those who have a business or looking to start the business. Information provided should not come across as a commercial. I will build the website in a manor where your business would be noticed with your company details and contact information.

Please contact me at info@yougonetwork.com or feel free to post here in the discussion.

Johnnie and Gail:

I am new to Smaller Indiana and do not wish to be a Johnny come lately but this is a super idea. With proper effort put into creating awareness of the Virtual Small Business Fair this will be an excellent way to promote Indiana small businesses. The trick will be to keep the site affordable to them. I plan on sharing this with my clients and network and start promoting on my social and business networks to help get the word out as soon as the site is up. I will do the same for the small business fair fair in July. Not sure how this will help bu the more we spread the word the better. You might look at a new site http://lksmart.com to get some ideas. This is an online family friendly Craig's list type site that a fellow Hoosier.

Please let me know if you need any other help. I would love to be a volunteer site monitor if you still need them.

Look forward to speaking to you further about this project.

I love the idea of videos to accompany text. I am overwhelmed sometimes with all the reading. My eyes don't keep up after awhile. I would defiantly like to place my business on this site. The more exposure I can get the better. Please visit my store at www.walkezstore.com for more info about what I do.

Sounds Interesting

Having a format for small business presenting themselves would be good to make it possible to find wanted info (No one forgets if it is in the form)

One benefit of the current fairs is access to services and information for starting businesses.

How about some virtual presentations. PowerPoint slides with and without narration. Video, Text.
Nothing over two pages 20 slides, or five minutes.

Some real time things would also be fiun and encourage people to BE THERE.
Discussions with coaches etc.

Let me know if I can help in some way

Suzi
