Thanks for following up, Johnnie. I think the message is still confusing, because it offers free admission on the same page that you're charging for the seminars.

"Everyone is welcome to show up at the door and walk in. No need to register at all, it just helps the event planner."

So, maybe what you need to say on Eventbrite (and perhaps on the main site) is this, under FREE ADMISSION: "SEE OUR EXHIBITORS for FREE! Your reservation here tells our organizers that you're coming, AND will give you an extra chance to win a DOOR PRIZE! (Reserve a space at the seminars below.)"

I hope this helps.

Hi Jerry,

I will go back and see what I can do to clarify this. The first ticket on Eventbrite is FREE and it is there to preregister for the event so it can help our organizers plan. Everyone is welcome to show up at the door and walk in. No need to register at all, it just helps the event planner.
The other tickets are for the seminars and there is a $5 charge to RESERVE a seat, as the seating for the seminars is limited. We wanted to make sure if someone really wanted to see a seminar on a specific area we would hold and guarantee them a seat. Again everyone is welcome to walk in and take a seat for free but the seats are limited.

Thank you for the valuable feedback. I am going to make some changes right now to help clarify this. Please let us know if you see anything else.

I surfed over to www.indianabusinessfair.com. When I click the banner that proclaims, FREE ADMISSION, it takes me to an Eventbrite reservation site...where there is a CHARGE for each seminar, or for the entire conference. Please resolve these conflicting messages.

To all ISBF Member

I am reprinting this from my response on the Virtual Indiana Small Business Fair thread. I want to encourage all in this group to do for each other and all will benefit. This is a great group idea and can benefit both existing and start up small businesses in our state.

I am new to Smaller Indiana and do not wish to be a Johnny come lately but this is a super idea. With proper effort put into creating awareness of the Virtual Small Business Fair this will be an excellent way to promote Indiana small businesses. The trick will be to keep the site affordable to them. I plan on sharing this with my clients and network and start promoting it on my social and business networks to help get the word out as soon as the site is up. I will do the same for the Small Business Fair in July. Not sure how this will help but the more we spread the word the better. You might look at a new site http://lksmart.com to get some ideas. This is an online family friendly Craig's list type site that a fellow Hoosier has set up.

Please let me know if you need any other help. I would love to be a volunteer site monitor if you still need them.

Duke,

Great idea!

I agree. That is one of the purposes of this event. We want to support those interested in starting a business as well as those who have a business. Can you imagine what it would be like if we all came together to support one another in Indiana? WOW!

May I also suggest we send information to all our contacts about the event and celebrate small businesses!!

Thanks for the comments. This is going to be a memorable event for everyone!
