Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

What service do you use to post photos online for your customers to browse and/or purchase. Any and all suggestions and reasons are welcome. As we are still new and building a clientele we are using a service that charges $50 per upload with an unlimited number of photos per upload. They allow a secure login and if pics are purchased the order comes to us and we then place the order with the company. Weddingprints.com is the website I believe.

Chris -check out Zen Folio or SmugMug Professional packages. They are both reasonably priced and allow ordering and password protected galleries. Personally I use SlideShow Pro Director to upload and create galleries of my photos. The proofs have numbers on them, so if someone needs something retouched they just tell me which number, the same works for the prints.

Thanks PK. We are going to revisit our site and gallery once our contract is up in a few months. I have looked at Photoshelter. Any word on it?

Never used them. But I did try ZenFolio. If you can tell me what you spend on a monthly or annual basis I can give you some recommendations.

I just got a tip from a web developer about sitewelder.com Looks like a very good option. I'd have to double check all of the costs involved with our current site. Thanks for the help.

Chris - i always found custom websites to be a pain to maintain. They leave you at the mercy of the developer you worked with. ZenFolio and SmugMug take the worry of upgrades and availability. Just my 2 cents as you are looking for solutions.
