Making people and ideas findable

The end of the season may be near, but Indianapolis golfers can continue their training at Westview

In May I began a 200-hour yoga training class for instructors. The only drawback has been that my four-hour class meets every Thursday night when I historically played in a ladies golf league. Unfortunately, the study of yoga kept me from using it in my swing this summer. My schedule didn't allow for yoga and golf. But I'll be back next year, hopefully stronger and more flexible than ever. I've only played 18 holes this year, but I could see that yoga had done much for my swing.

If you're wondering how to continue your golf training this winter, yoga may be a good addition to your fitness routine. Golf pro David Duval credits yoga for his amazing range of motion. You can also improve your swing with Tomo Shimano, a certified Titlest Performance Institute trainer at Westview Healthplex Sports Club. Shimano uses tour proven methods to help golfers transfer speed and energy for distance, consistency and accuracy. Call the Westview Healthplex at 920-7414 or e-mail Kelly O'Brian @kobrian@healthplex-indy.com. Membership is not required to train with Shimano.
