Salsa Clubs:

Jazz Kitchen, Thursday nights, Ladies in free till 10PM, 54th and College

Adobo, Friday Nights, I forget the cover, 82nd and Allisonville in the Marsh Plaza

El Meson, Saturday nights, don't remember the cover here either, it is located just north of 86th St on Michigan Road

Red Room, Wednesday nights, in B'ripple up above Chelsea's

Swing dancing (East Coast, West Coast, and Lindy Hop), every other Friday at the Fountain Square, starts at 7pm I think. $12 if you take the group lesson at 7, $10 if you do not go to the lesson. Has live bands. Lots of fun, family friendly. All ages. They just put a bracelet on you if you are over 21.

I would like to know of places that I could ballroom dance without having to have a contract. Sometimes Riolo offers open parties, but I don't know if there are any others. I don't have the dough to pay for contracts, but I do love to dance.

Great info, Carrie! I wish I could help you out with the ballroom question...

Adobo hasn't been there in several months. Other than that, your list looks good.

There are a number of public ballroom dances in the Indy area. Most of the public dances (ballroom, swing, Latin) are listed on the Hoosier Dance Calendar.

Dance Masters, on the South side, I think

Adobo downtown has salsa dancing a few nights a week - cover is $5 - located on Washington I think between Delaware and Pennsylvania. It's easy to learn (especially if you are a girl) just show up and start saying yes to everyone who asks you to dance and tell them you are new - - they will be more than happy to help you!!!!

As far as official Dance Studios, I am a huge fan of the Fred Astaire Studio at the 71st and Georgetown area.....

Does anybody know where the current Salsa spot is for Friday nights then? My schedule has changed....used to go a lot to Jazz Kitchen bc it's the closest to my house, but can't go there right now.....I haven't been salsa-ing in months!
