CAN DO!

College Avenue Neighborhood

Development Organization

“PRESERVING AND REVITALIZING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD”

Over the past several months, the College Avenue Neighborhood Development Organization

(CAN DO!) has been working with neighbors, associations, developers, City and State officials to ignite an area turnaround and improvement plan. With an initial focus on College Avenue and its business nodes, we are organized and searching for additional brain-power, man-power and expertise.

The CAN DO! group has come together to redevelop, improve and reinforce the geographic area bordered by the Monon Trail to the east, Central Avenue to the west, 38th Street to the south, and 54th Street to the North. This core area is long overdue for support and improvements by Indianapolis government as well as private and public partnerships.

49th and College is an intersection that has been improved at the southwest, but otherwise is in need of physical and economic redevelopment. This is a key step in stabilizing our neighborhood and preventing decay from spreading. Infrastructure improvements, economic redevelopment, walkability, preservation and creation of quality housing, crime prevention, and overall community livability are the goals and mantra of CAN DO!

Your ongoing support and key contributions to the neighborhood are strategic to its continued success and improvement.

Together we CAN DO!

Sincerely,

CAN DO! Executive Committee
