Making people and ideas findable

Just out of curiosity, how many of you are Great Banquet (or like organizations) alums? If so, tell me when, and where. I'd love to know!

Theresia,

Years ago I attended Cursillo which is the R.C. version of the great banquet - in face the R.C.'s brought the model from Spain I think it was years ago. It was a powerful & awesome experience so me. I was newly 'born again' & 'spirit-filled' and had an opportunity to be strengthened in the learning He was providing in my 'youthful' days as a woman who'd believed all her known days, but hadn't come to know Him personally until that point in my life!

Thanks for asking!

I attended an Emmaus Walk at Camp Jameson, I think #132. I think it was April '04. Table of Mark (really) I was carrying around a lot of bitterness before this walk, but by His grace I was able to lay it all down, and it's never come back! De Colores!

Praise the Lord. De Colores, brother! My husband will be serving on a GB team as Assistant Lay Director in March. We appreciate your prayers and feel free to invite some men to the Banquet.

De Colores! I am new to SI and was instantly drawn to this group. I love the photo. This is the first photo I saw at my Great Banquet. O the power it has over me when I see it. I am an alumi of The Lafayette Great Banquet #45, table of Hannah. I have not been able to attend a meeting for years since I live in Indy. Is there a Great Banquet in Indy that meets on a regular basis?

Hi, Deanna,

DeColores! My husband and I are actively involved in the Zionsville GB community. In fact, the women's GB starts Thursday if you want to come to send-off. If you visit zionsvillegb.org, you can learn more about gatherings and upcoming events. There are other communities around Indy so if Zionsville doesn't work out for you, let me know, and I'll try to get you connected elsewhere. As for a reunion group, there are many as well. I'm not in one right now but I can introduce you to some folks who can get you connected if you want to join one.

Take care!

Theresia,

Thank for the invite. I will visit the website and try to make it to a meeting soon. I apologize for not getting back sooner, but I am still getting acclimated to this site.

I hope to meet you soon.

Deanna

Good Morning Theresia and fellow Jesus Freaks...just joined the group.
I attended Grace Lamplighter #1 about three years ago and have been involved ever since. It's a local ministry here in Central Indiana - very similar to Great Banquet I'm told. In fact, many of the people I volunteer with are also involved in Great banquet.

Hi, Scott,

My husband served on a Lamplighter team at our former church, New Life Community Church. Perhaps you're familiar with it. It is indeed similar to GB although "abbreviated".

I attended Hamilton County Great Banquet #56, Table of Ruth, in Nov. 2007. Life turned on a dime.

Just this last weekend I attended the Lafayette Great Banquet #82 Table of Luke. Had an absolutely wonderful time. Was also an eye-opening experience for me.

I was baptized in my early teens, and somewhere along the way I got off the paved road. Been wandering along that old pot hole-filled, rocky, muddy road for way too many years. The last 2 years I have been wanting to get back on that paved road that leads to our reward that awaits us in Heaven. The opportunity has always been there. Just never had the motivation. The Great Banquet was my motivation.

My new personal motto is, "With God as my anchor, I will never drift from the Truth". God Bless all of you.

De Colores!
