I am in Marion, I have attended meetings with the Green Business Network in Indy. This has been very productive for our business. Through our association with GBN we just had a feature article done on us in Indy Magazine. We have already been approached by several companies. We attended a CASN meeting last night. Made some great contacts. This is what we all need closer to home. We need to grow the group and find seveal places to have meetings and set-up a pupose and goal for the meetings. Start inviting others to join and let's get some ideas going. We could have the first meeting at our place in Marion.

Something new and exciting in Marion. Marion now has an organic coffee roastery. Midwest Organic Coffee Company. We love to share our freshly roasted coffee with other Coffee lovers in Indiana. We are meeting some great people through SmallerIndiana.com

FYI --
A new networking group started about two months ago in Kokomo. If you would like to network with some local businesses, you should check out Indiana Business Network. We meet every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Continental Ballroom. It is a lunch meeting -- 8.00 for the meal . Bring business cards. IBN is a combination on-line social network as well as face-to-face networking. Crista and Kim from Koko-Marion group are also members. Check out the website at http://ibn.collectivex.com/.

My name is Ashley and a recent member of Smaller Indiana (although I've been a member of Smaller Indiana on FB for sometime). I'm glad that I found this local group of professionals and I am looking forward to learning more and possibly networking with local professionals.

I second that Kathy, SBDC is truly an untapped resource. I really can't say enough good things aobut the SBDC.

Mark - It is great to hear that the peer-mentoring group has been a great resource for your company. My GOAL is to let people know how the SBDC can help them! We have SO MANY great programs and we are ALL trying to get the word out!

Deb Clason - you're my hero!

I can attest to Deb's program - not only does it make oodles of money for the organization, but the girls and their fathers have an experience of a lifetime!

There are 3 facets to my business:
1. Event planning. I do corporate and social (weddings) events and would love an opportunity to show you why I am different from my competitors.
2. My Books. I have authored The Ultimate Bridal Survivor Wedding Guide Series; a complete system for DIY Brides that features "The Bliss Method" a 4 phase technique that guides a Bride through the planning, delegation and execution of her wedding day. There are companion guides for the Groom, Best Man, Maid of Honor & both sets of parents. If ANYONE knows of a Bride that is planning her wedding herself - this is the system she needs to save time, money & her sanity! I also have another book coming out May 14th about... well, I'll keep you in suspense about that one!
3. Public Speaking. I love to get out and speak to groups about my passions! Anything having to do with events, wedding planning or trends, being a "mompreneuer", just about anything. Let me know if you are looking for someone to liven up your luncheon or workshop. I am not your typical speaker! :)

So what can I do for you?
Debbie Clason Comment by Debbie Clason on April 28, 2009 at 9:43am
Until we have the opportunity to meet in person, why don't we let each other know what it is we're looking for professionally so we can begin to network with each other?

I'm looking for referrals to a nonprofit in the Marion area that would be interested in being the host organization for the Cinderella Ball. They should work with children and their families (schools and churches qualify) and be looking for a signature fundraiser that will grow annually.

The 3-hour program celebrates fatherhood and promotes youth philanthropy -- and is best suited for girls between the ages of 5-10. There is a $1750 program fee, but I give them a comprehensive manual and am their coach from beginning to end. Bona Vista in Kokomo is hosting an August 21 event. I also have programs in Fort Wayne and Richmond.

More information is available on my web site www.thecinderellaball.com.

Now... how can I help you?
