Just posted a review of The Blind Side to my blog -- it is a "must-see" for the holiday season!

A blast from the 1990's past is "True Romance," with Patrica Arquette, Christian Slater, James Gandolfini, Christopher Walken, and Dennis Hopper. There is also an early career part from Brad Pitt. I forgot about this movie until a few years ago, but it is a good one. Oh yeah, this was the first screen play written by Tarantino.

Love movies, so this must be the group for me. Some faves of mine are: Taken, Bourne Identity, The Count of Monte Cristo, Idiocracy (because sometimes I feel it proves a valid point), and Office Space. My first preference in a movie is suspense/action, and I tend to get into sci-fi when it is just on the edge of possible. A good comedy is in order once in a while, which I also appreciate when in the mood, but I prefer action or horror to a laugh. Any recommendations?

In 1990, I produced a local tv show, "It's My Life" and I am trying to locate 29 actors who were involved in the production. So far I have located 8 of them, as far away as Florida and Montana. I am planning a 20 year reunion and would like to release the "It's My Life" series on You Tube...If you happen to know anyone who was involved, let me know at sandyrusk@netscape.net.
I am still looking for:
Katina Colwell (Brook), Bill Greenlee (Robin), Lainie Thomas (Melanie), Mark Ray (Brad), Kelly Myers (Jenni), Charles Guin (Brody), Dallas Radford (Johnny), Amy Bentley (Grace), Eric Castor (Kevin) Amy Wainscott (Dagny), Danielle Mays (Corrine), Kristi Wilkerson (Leslie), Carmen Zambrano (Joanne), Kristine Crabtree (Jackie), Chris Pictor (Josh), April Griffith (Rozy), Derrick Price (Joe), Ann Monahan (Angela), Chris Monahan (Madelyn), Mary Rife (Shelly), Stephen Gibson (Micheal)

...since this was 20 years ago, most of the actors would be in their mid 30's to early 40's.

I wanted to let everyone know that at Keystone Art Cinema's 7:30 screenings of "Shrink" tonight and tomorrow night, the film's screenwriter Thomas Moffett will be in town to do Q&As immediately after the film.

Thomas is a Hoosier himself, and is very proud of his film (starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Williams, and Gore Vidal, among others), and this is a rare opportunity for Hoosiers to speak with one of their own made good in Hollywood!

I also have an interview with Thomas up at The Film Yap (http://www.thefilmyap.com/thomas-moffett/) if you'd like to check that out.

Hello! I write movie reviews as well and want to say hello to everyone! I used to write reviews for INtake/indy.com The Magazine, but now I run The Film Yap (www.thefilmyap.com) with ex-Indy Star critic Christopher Lloyd. I'd love to talk movies sometime!

Your group sounds interesting. I write movie and theatre reviews, and it'll be fun to befriend other movie lovers!

Thank you for the recommendations. Unfortunately, these are not my type of films, but I am sure that someone in the group will enjoy them.

I love a variety of movies, but I am a "sucker" for a happy ending.

Pretty Woman is a movie that had a completely different, and sad, ending. Disney took over the script and changed the ending completely from a sad ending [Vivien and Edward never saw each other again] to a happy ending where the couple "rescued" each other and lived "happily ever after".

The worse movies I have seen are ones that end abruptly without "closure". I NEED closure in a movie!!

Its like they ran over budget and decided to just stop filming without tying up "loose ends". At least they could put in an written epilogue just before the credits to tell you how everyone resolved their conflicts which needed to be resolved.

Without conflicts, there is no drama, without resolution, there are no recommendations from me!!

A couple of films I'd like to recommend, if you haven't seen them:

Brotherhood of the Wolf, which is a French film I absolutely adore centered around the story of the Beast of Gevaudan. See it with subtitles if possible.

If you're a documentary fan interested in politics / media, Control Room follows an Al-Jazeera reporter around.

The Commitments was voted the most Irish movie of all time by a bunch of Irish people, and it's hilarious. It's about a group of Northside Dubliners who start a soul band.

If you like B movies, or are a horror fan (especially of HP Lovecraft), check out In the Mouth of Madness.

Thanks to everyone who have posted comments so far. I love hearing what everyone thinks about any particular movie, and especially if you know of one that you can highly recommend.

I suggest everyone to give "Crooked Hearts" a look. Incredible movie but not many of my patients have ever heard of it, let alone have seen it.

Its about a family [Mom, Dad, two sons and a daughter] who, on the surface seem like the coolest family ever, but as the plot unfolds the viewer comes to realize just how dysfunctional the family really is with all the hidden secrets that is the under current of the movie. You will love this "sleeper" with an all star cast.

If you HAVE already seen it, please let me know. In 15 years of suggesting this movie as part of my patients' therapy, no one has ever heard of it. Happy viewing!!
