I watched "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" again recently. It's a must-see if you're a dad.

As a fellow Josie, I must defend Josie and The Pussycats...the line referencing A Flock of Seagulls makes the movie worth the time you invest.

I would encourage anyone who wants to plan film festival gatherings to go forward with it. As I am currently between jobs, my participation at first may be spotty, but I hope to change that before too long. :) Good idea, Christopher.

David--Josie and the Pussy Cats? For real? Now I'm curious. And with two young daughters, I have the perfect excuse to go rent it. Hmmmmm...

Anybody in this group planning on attending the upcoming Indianapolis International Film Festival that starts this week? I was out for dinner with friends the other night and picked up the schedule of films being presented. It looked really good.

I thought it would be great to find some other people heading out to see some of the same movies at the festival so there could be ongoing discussion afterward. That is how I found this group. If enough people are interested maybe we could start a sub group for this and future indianapolis/indiana area film festivals? Anyone interested?

I have a rather broad list of movie favs. The Abyss, The Matrix, Enemy Of The State, The Princess Bride, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, all the James Bond Movies, most of the Star Wars movies, School of Rock, Rocketman, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Wedding Singer, Josie and the Pussycats, (Don't scoff if you haven't seen it!), and of course being a musician, I love the classic, This Is Spinal Tap!

"When did a film change your world?" seems to me an excellent topic for this group. Want to post it as a separate discussion or can I steal it to do the same? The film project sounds fascinating.

I am part of a group called Provocate, which seeks to stimulate creative new approaches to solving problems. Provocate does an event at the Harrison Center for the Arts every First Friday. April 4th is “I Am a Camera (And You Can Too!).” We plan to make a movie that evening. Send kids (and grown ups) with digital cameras around the Center (the 25 studios and 2 galleries) interviewing people about the question: “When did a film change your world?” Then we will edit the interviews and other material into a short film. Over the course of the evening, we will also show previews and trailers from films in the upcoming International Film Festival and Campe-Cine as well as other small film festivals. It should be really fun and a great way to learn about/meet other film projects in town. Anyone with a video camera can play.

Changing the Veteran Stereotype 3 Replies

The media (and even recent politicians) really paint a sad picture of what it's like to be a Veteran nowadays. There's the one picture of a Veteran sleeping under a bridge, and there's the other pi...

Where did you serve? Where do you serve? 23 Replies

I thought it might be good to start with figuring out where we served in the military and how we serve our business community here in Indiana.
