Making people and ideas findable

Has anyone else scoped any locations as a possible meeting places for the Northside Smoosier Tech Club?

I like Gourmet Grounds, but it's all the way out at 116th and Olio Road. It's probably a little far out for most.

I also checked out Cafe Du Meebo (where the Starbucks used to be at 96th and Allisonville Rd). I don't think it would be a good place, as it is a coffee shop and hooka bar. Personally, I'd rather not hang out in a smokey coffee house.

What about Scotty's on 96th? They have wi-fi and a private room.

And they're open late!
And have beer!

I also like Mack's idea of Scotty's - it's easily accessible, and would be great if we could get the private room.

I sent an email to Scott Wise @brewhouse to find out if there's a charge for the private room. He said there isn't as long as there's a minimum of food and beverages purchased. He asked when (what night, and how often) we were thinking of and how many people would attend. I haven't responded yet, since we haven't figured that on out.

Tuesdays are probably the best for me, Thursdays are also possible.

Are we starting with once a month or more frequently? Thoughts from the panel?

Thanks for running with the logistics John!

How about the second Tuesday of each month? Our first meeting could be 13 October 2009.

We can get a tentative number count over the next week, and I'm sure we can draw some Southside Smoosiers into the mix.

Scotty's sounds fine. Tuesdays are better for me than Thursdays in general, however 10/13 I've already got another commitment.

Any interest in 3rd Tuesday? 2nd Tues is IT Happy Hour at Fox & Hound.

Any Tuesday of the month is fine for me.
I wouldn't be able to make the third Tuesday of this month, though.

Can we get everyone together for 17 November? It's the next 3rd Tuesday on the calendar.

Works for me.

What time are you planning on?

Sounds like people are tied up tonight. Think we can make 15 December our inaugural meeting? I'm sure that gives us enough time to gather some folks - I'll even goad Doug Karr into an appearance!

Thoughts?
