Making people and ideas findable

It is pretty easy to see that the economy is in trouble and may stay that way (or even get worse) over the next few years.

What are you doing to make sure that your business will stay afloat/productive during the (unofficial) recession?

What effects are you seeing in the market place due to the economy?

What part of your business will you focus your time?

I advertise specials, the economy is slow and with the gas prices rising it doesn't make it better, I think you have to target certain types of people and needs, one way is offering specials, and maybe your existing clients offer something for them a promotion of some sort.Just an idea.

I do some advertising and offer specials, I also will occasionally for existing customers give them a price break, I cut my retail and compete with bigger companies, I offer the best quality of what I do and keep my prices a little lower and maintain quality and excellent perfomance.
I see what other competitors are doing and offer something better, I stay late hours, I work on saturdays, I bend and twist, It is tough to be in business, but it is competitive and you have to stay ahead and on top all the time, It's not easy, but as the economy gets worse, it is going to have to be that way, if you want to stay in business.

For effects in my market place, i personally haven't seen alot, some people are not buying as much retail, but thankfully, I stay busy.

I always focus my time on the customer and the quality of what I produce, and the clients needs and satisfaction. That's what customer service is all about. If all else fails say a few prayers!!
