I vote for Taylor's on Allisonville and 62nd. But I'm sure I'm going to get beaten up by you people who like Long's.

Ha ha--"you people."

Honestly, Taylor's hasn't always been consistent with their freshness.
I'm always up for new doughnut suggestions. However if Taylor's sucks I will never let you live it down. I may even rub proverbial doughnuts in your face.
Why limit yourself to proverbial donut rubbing?
WOW! This is a hard question! Ever since I moved to Indy I have said that they need a good bakery! I am from the Evansville area and every time I visit I have to pick up a Chocolate Long John from The Donut Bank! If I have to vote for an Indy location then I say Long's and Taylors are even (after The Donut Bank!). Sorry. . . hard decision!!
Oooohhhhhhhh, Donut Bank. That would totally win any competition. I will be in Eville in two weeks and will be indulging in Donut Bank, GD Ritzy's, and the World's Largest Shoe Carnival.
Oh yeah! Have fun and enjoy the donuts!! They are the best! I second the GD Ritzy's as well!
OMG - they still have GD Ritzy's! I love their Grilled Chicken Sandwich and their Chunky Dory Fudge Milkshake. I really miss Donut Bank too! And don't even get me started on missing Turoni's Pizza!
Doughnut smackdown 2009.
Long's, Taylor's, Doughnut Bank.
A dozen from each, central location.
Let the doughnut wars BEGIN!
I think we should strike the Donut Bank in Evansville. That's not one of the best donuts in Indy because it's not in Indy!

However, I submit the Donut Shop (Keystone & 57th) as a tasty alternative.

Assuming you mean the Taylor's on 14th and Tremont, Butler University is a good central location.

Perhaps we should pick categories? Glazed, Jelly-filled, and Bear Claw?
It's tough to beat a glazed donut from Long's, but Hilligoss Bakery in Brownsburg is worth checking out as an underdog.
I have made an executive decision.

High Noon - Saturday, March 14 - The lawn in front of Clowes Hall, Butler University.

May the best donut win.
I had the donut holes from Taylor's in Fishers, and I have to say they were the best I had in a looooong time.

I think we need to set the parameters for what is the best donut. Yeast or cake, frosted or plain, filled or not, etc.
