I was watching the Cards v. Pirates game and I was cringing this was a team we should be able to beat hands down. . .and we got destroyed! We are losing way too many players to injuries. . .so I think they need to change their strategy to compensate for that. . .I still have high hopes! We are just having a bit of a slump. . .hopefully it will be a short one.

We need to get a rally going...why is it so hard for us to beat up on the weak Pirates? They aren't that good, but we just can't beat them as often as we should!

I was reading an article about how the Cubs have had so many injuries...I wanted to say 3 words: Carpenter, Ankiel, Ludwick. As far as their top players, it was Zambrano (long after we lost Carpenter) and Ramierez (after we lost Ankiel, and Aramis wasn't doing much for them much like Ankiel for us so far). Now we've lost our protection for Pujols too!

How many games do you see us winning in the month of May? I'm scared to think about it really!

My goal is to be 10 games above .500 at the 40 game mark. We have 6 more games to get to 40, and we need to win 5 of them. It's possible, but not likely. So I think we have failed in the first 1/4 of the season, especially with the April we had!

not a fan of LaRussa changing things up like he does.

I'm o.k. with him keeping guys fresh, but leave guys in their same hitting spot as often as possible. Rotate the new guy from spot to spot, don't move everyone.

I've defended LaRussa on a couple of issues over the past few years, but I think we sometimes win games in spite of LaRussa instead of because of LaRussa.

Is anyhone watching these games??

They are great (haven't missed one yet). I'm going to miss tomorrow's game...but for good reason...

I'm driving to Chicago during the game and will be in the 3rd row for the Cards/Cubs Saturday game at Wrigley. First trip to Wrigley, and roughly my 400th Cardinals game, lol.

Back into a tie for first place! :)

I really wish they would have spent some bucks and gotten K-Rod because this blowing leads in the save position killed them last year. My hunch, though, is that they're going to build as much internally to fill positions versus blockbuster deals in order to not have Pujols sign elsewhere when his contract is up.
