Looking For a PHP Programmer Who Wants To Be Part of a Startup

A few years ago I wanted more than anything to be the programmer for a cool start-up company. I wanted to write an awesome web application and let somebody else worry about sales and marketing.

How funny that this morning I met a guy who is starting what looks to be a pretty cool business based on an application written in PHP. The primary audience is mobile users. He needs to add a partner to his team that can write great PHP and Javascript. This isn’t a situation of walking into half-finished code and trying to make it work. It’s actually the chance to start building the code from the ground up and do everything the right way.

I say it’s funny because I’ve finally found a salaried position that I love. I also have a 7-month-old baby at home, and a predictable income has never been more important to me than it is now. So for the first time in my life, I’m totally the wrong fit for this startup.

But I do think this idea has great potential. I didn't want to post it on the job board since I'm not the person hiring for this position. But if you don’t have a 7-month-old baby or you don’t already have a job that you love (or both!), I know a guy who’s looking for a PHP expert that wants to build something cool. When this startup takes off, I’d love to be able to say I introduced the entrepreneur and the programmer behind it.
