Hey any Rails or web (PHP, .NET or generic MVC) developers out there– Things are starting to pick up here in RedPost-land (specifically Goshen, Ind.) and we’re looking for a 1/4 time to 1/2 time developer with at least some rails experience. It could grow into a full time job; telecommuting is fine too. If you’re interested, send a resume and links/sample of your work to jobs@theredpost.com.

Hint: If you don’t know what Rails is or at least MVC stands for, you’re probably not what we’re looking for.

Any web designers or other resource providers for Small Business Owners interested in being a vendor at the Indiana Small Business Fair?

For additional information on the
Indiana Small Business Fair please visit our website at
www.indianabusinessfair.com.
We are focusing on people who are thinking about starting a business, those who have just started a business, and those who own a small business, who want valuable resources at their fingertips.

The exhibitors will be organizations and businesses who can provide a service or product for the individuals mentioned above. We will limit the exhibitors to 2-3 businesses in the same field in order to provide as much information in various fields as possible.

Seminars will be ongoing throughout the day to enlighten us on starting a business, managing a business, social media and networking.

The exhibit floor is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for people to come and go as they please, to gather information, and grow. Networking is encouraged for everyone. In fact, we have set aside a special time for networking from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with free appetizers.

Hope to see you there!

Hello, I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself as well. My name is Toby Reeves, and I am President of Rescott, LLC Marketing & Technology, a small technology innovator in Carmel.

Over the years, we've blended our expertise in I.T. network support with internet solutions. We still provide computer I.T. support to small to medium sized businesses. My main love is developing and implementing brand new internet based solutions to the market.

One such solution I just completed is DoConference.com, a new web based video conferencing platform. It's is expecially ideal for trainers and consultants who conduct webinars online. We are offering a 14 day free trial of DoConference.com to those who are interested.

I look forward to meeting you in future events and online. If I can assist in any way with any of our I.T. and Marketing solutions, I would appreciate the opportunity.

Just wanted to remind everyone in the Web Dev group about the upcoming Smaller Indiana Bigger Ideas conference. Pat has opened it up so you can name your own price for this unique event.

I highly recommend attending if you are able. If you have gotten anything out of your experience with Smaller Indiana, this is a great way to support the site and continue to put a spotlight on local innovation.

Here is a post from Pat with details: http://www.smallerindiana.com/profiles/blogs/set-your-own-ticket-price-for

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
