Pete Yorn is quite talented... Saw him a few years ago solo, and before that as part of "The Thorns" (which was him, Mathew Sweet, & Edwin McCain and some others) when they toured with Jayhawks several years ago. Both times I've seen Pete (solo and with Thorns) it was a great show.

Also like the idea of journeying off to a secret location for a mid-day music rendezvous...

I am so excited that Pete Yorn is coming back to Indianapolis. I haven't missed one of his shows in Indianapolis and will miss being able to see him at the Music Mill. That was such a great venue to see performers up close.

Seeing Pete Yorn in a studio setting would be like seeing the Mona Lisa with out the glass. This guy is incredible. His talent to play is off the charts and the writing is more than inspiring.

I think Pete Yorn is one of a handful of current artists who have truly original music, and I have a deep appreciation for how hard he has worked the past few years in particular to build his career. Quick Pete Yorn story: In September of 2006 while traveling for business I went a couple hours out of my way to go to the now defunct Virgin records store in downtown Chicago (on the Miracle Mile) to see a live performance from Pete. I was really psyched to see him, and stood around his gear at the store waiting for the show. It would have been an intimate show experience, much like what I imagine WTTS' Studio 92 would be like. Because of some scheduling issues, the show got pushed to a later time and I wasn't able to stay and see it, so I left pretty bummed out as you might imagine. I'd love to have the opportunity to see him up close like this, so that's why I entered the contest. Although I enjoy listening to his CD's, I feel you only get a real sense of a musician from seeing them perform live. I am a part-time local performing musician (acoustic rock duo/trio mostly) so I'm into all the gear and energy from a live performance. Anyway, I hope you pick me. I'd love to go.

I'm a HUGE Pete Yorn (and WTTS) fan! I saw Pete live at The Music Mill a few of years ago and I didn't want the show to EVER end. I have been waiting for him to come back to Indy ever since and am so excited that he'll be playing at such an intimate venue as The Vogue. Having been a fan of Pete since High School (um, let's just say over 10 years), I have followed his music through the years and have always been true to him, buying every cd. Pete is a fantastic performer and by far one of the best artists I've ever seen live. His music is original and his voice is well...delicious. I have entered many WTTS Studio 92 concerts (without ever winning) but Pete is by far my favorite artist to play. I'd be honored to win the tickets and hope that you pick someone who'd truly appreciate being there!

I've always loved and respected Pete Yorn and the music he creates. The guy is extremely talented, and I can't imagine anyone else that would be more exciting to see in such an intimate setting such as WTTS Over Easy. He is perfect for that. His music and sound are so original, not to mention you feel like you know Pete just from listening to him. He gives an intimate and powerful performance on a studio recording, so I can't imagine how awesome it would be to see and hear that live at WTTS.

Also, 92.3 has been my number one station since the days I started listening to radio. It's all I listen to anymore. Just being in the studio and seeing their space would be extremely exciting all by itself... add Pete Yorn, and that makes it the perfect day!

Pete Yorn at the Bluebird would be almost as inspirational as seeing Richie Havens at the Bird in 83. Here's what Pete's Crystal Village inspired in me:
Take my hand
What a thought provoking phrase. You hear take my hand and you see something in your mind's eye. Maybe you see your mother holding her hand out to you when you can't make it up those big steps that lead up to your preschool classroom. Maybe you see the nurse holding her hand out to you when you learn that your mother has cancer. Maybe it's the kindness of strangers; maybe it's the warmth of family.

The very thought of someone reaching out their hand to help another person gives me hope. That act provokes the most powerful of human emotions: need, acceptance, empathy, loyalty, trust. No small feat - putting your hand out to someone. From putting your hand on an unsteady elbow of an elderly stranger struggling with the weight of a door to offering your hand with your heart in it to the person that you are willing to spend the rest of your days with - it's a huge gesture. Sometimes take my hand means I love you and I'll always be here. Sometimes it just means watch out you're about to fall.

In a perfect world no one's hand would be bitten after it's offered. In a perfect world no one's hand would be rejected after it was offered because it was a different color or too small or too old. In a perfect world people who said take my hand would be heroes.
