Let's talk Java! A great way to meet someone is to invite them for coffee. What is your favorite venue or flavor? Also, if you'd like you can tell us about some experiences you've had when you met for a cup of joe.

Cathy,
I am inspired by your passions. I am a student at Ball State and currently an intern for Energize East Central Indiana (the regional economic development corporation). I have recently recognized my love for Indiana and the growth of business and commerce. I am disappointed I missed the business fairs you have hosted but would like to learn more about your current endeavors and initiatives. Would you be willing to meet me for lunch and/or chat with me on the phone about your experiences? Please let me know if either of these are a possibility. Have a great weekend!

Hi Cathy, I apologize for not getting back with you on the invite schedued for January 19th. I will not be able attend. I'm still working full-time at HP Entrepresises until we can generate enough funds for Hearts of Pearl. Please keep me posted for events in the future. Again my deepest apologies for not responding promptly.

Thank You

Hi Cathy, thanks for making me a friend. I would love to share information about Hearts of Pearl. I founded this organization July of 2009. with this purpose in mind. To build new lives for youth who are homeless and in need due to abuse, neglect, family crisis or abandonment by providing shelter, residential, transitional, food, clothes, education, life skills, counseling, day care, transportation, career training and support. We are currently looking for property that we can rent to get this project started by July of 2010. check out our website, by googling www.heartsofpearl.org and let me know what you think.

My plan at this point (to get contract sewing in Indiana) is to approach companies who already do sewn manufacturing and see if they are willing to retrain/transition to include apparel items. I wrote a blog about it here...not sure if that was the right place. Meanwhile my own manufactured items arrive in the next week or so, so I have my hands full.

Hi, Cathy. It's Cathy. One of my goals is to get some businesses together to start (or encourage an existing business to take on) a contract sewing business. I am so tired of dealing with out of state manufacturers...as are my clients. It just makes sense for us to have a resource here in Indianapolis!

I have applied for a handful of positions at various Boys & Girls Clubs in the Indy area but haven't had much luck with them beyond that -- which is unfortunate because I actually grew up pretty active in their basketball league and some other groups. I know about Kiawanis but don't know too much about them.

Are you related to either organization?

Thank you for the add... I would be happy to discuss my company and capabilities any time.
