What inspires me about besides the vision, is the artist who has the guts to show their work in front of so many. I think we would enjoy business so much more if we could put it out there like that without monetary repercussions.

The Power of Dooce

I recently blogged about the power of online blog reviews and wanted to share it with the SI community. Since the post, my orders have increased from 42 to the point where I need to reorder. Amazing magic.....

Wednesday, after blowing out my tire on a curb and waiting for hours for help, all I had to look forward to was taking my dog, Pilot, to training school graduation. If you have seen the pictures of my dog, you might understand why dragging that small horse into a "sit-stay" is not my ide… Continue

The Provisional Patent

An idea is like a secret. You bubble over with excitement and containing it is a challenge.

Sure, sharing your invention with others is a good way of gauging the feasibility of a product, but it can also be the death of your promising idea. No friend means harm, but you never know who their friends know. Your idea could be in someone else's hands within minutes. Thankfully, BEFORE sharing my idea of the SmartZip™ Sleeper, a lawyer told me I should seriously consider filing for a provisional pat… Continue

The Enterprising Woman

I rarely have good luck. I usually wait around for the third bad thing to happen so I can move on with my day or week. The stars must have been aligned one morning. To my surprise, I received a call from a writer from a local magazine. She found me through a local networking site smallerindiana.com. It was proof this online social networking was working! She wondered if she could interview me for an article on enterprising women. Me an enterprising woman? You got that from my profile? Can I just… Continue

Becoming a Twit-terer?

I am brand new to all this social media networking. The marketing team I am using for my new business, strong armed me into it. For good reason.

The tweeting began with my hands hovering over the keyboard. What Am I Doing Now? Easily answered over a phone line, but for some reason I couldn't figure out what to say. Should it be business related? I am here, after all, to help put my product on the map. Do I talk about what I am really doing? Having an anxiety attack! Surely, that wouldn't be the… Continue

Seven Things About Me

Thanks to Arik and Taneesha for tagging me!

1. I was raised in Cleveland, Ohio to happily married, blue-collar workers. Their greatest gift was a good work ethic.
I wouldn't be where I am today without it.
2. I expect to live to be 100 and work hard everyday. I want to be totally used up when I die.
3. I believe in optimism. Anything else, gives you nothing to live for.
4. My husband and I went to high school together. We were in the same home room, but we never spoke. Until our ten year reunio… Continue

That's a good question. If you just click on the blog tab located on the top of your page then you will be able to submit your own post.

Also when you want to link the people names that you call out, just highlight the name or word and then select the chain link symbol in the tool bar within your box and either type in or past the url in which you would like the name or word to be linked to. The best way to do it is to open up a new window and go to the persons profile in which you want to link to, then highlight the url address and copy it in the box that opened when you selected the chain link symbol. The text will look pretty weird when you do that, but I can assure you it will post just fine.

This may sound a little confusing, so if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks

Sounds great! I will send you an email with my info. My husband has another networking event that day until 6:00, so it will be cutting it close. I'm trying to see what I can do to get him home earlier, or secure a sitter! :)
