I'm with Shannon. Caring about being cool makes you not cool. And for me, that's equivalent to caring what people think about you. I was relatively popular in high school. Was I cool? Not a bit. I cared way too much about how people saw me. Fittin...

Interesting feedback on Havana Café. I've not had any concerns about cleanliness, but when the appetizers came out without flatware, napkins, or even individual plates forcing me to ask twice to get the appropriate table ware, it raised a red flag...

The first time I went to Havana Café (Moller Rd and 38th St, NE corner), I loved it. The second time, not so much. In fact if my second experience had been my first, I wouldn't have returned, as both food and service were sub-par. Have any of you ...

I commented on Yats because Stephanie had it on her list she was working from. I wouldn't dream of including it in a Top 50 Indy restaurants list. Maybe a list of Cheap Eats. If a list is for best food, not best restaurant, I don't really have a p...

Thanks for starting this discussion! I lost my favorite taquería (on 52nd near Keystone) a few years ago and haven't found anything to replace it. I'll keep an eye on suggestions made.

I like Yats for decent, inexpensive food, but I'd be hard pressed to include them in the 50 best restaurants. (Apologies to all the fans, including my family.) I'd include Taste (on College), R Bistro, Hot Tuna, and if it hadn't just gone under, C...

I was really sorry to lose Café Nora also. Jim Nethercott made that a great place to stop for hearty Southern European food for more than 7 years. I hope to see Jim take on other challenges. On another note, I'm looking forward to trying H2O Sush...

I'm with Michael R. in that the hardest part for me about aging is the pain (in my case, due to former sports injuries). Even getting out of bed in the morning hurts. Standing hurts. Walking really hurts. (Yes, I've already had 2 knee surgeries.) ...

The atmosphere makes it not really a hole in the wall, but Sandra's Rice and Noodles (on Pendleton Pike between 56th and 59th streets) has some awesome food at great prices. Unfortunately, you have to dig to find the Vietnamese dishes, as dishes o...

Anyone know what's up with Boulevard Café at 42nd and Boulevard? It's been closed for a few months, with a note in the window saying "closed today" and directing the mail to the neighbor's address. I've been missing it for too long and hope Bob is...

Sorry, I missed that. I'd read 3rd Friday and figured it wasn't yesterday but next week. Next time I'll actually either do the math or look at a calendar. So sorry!

Dave, I'd be interested in hearing what company you used for solar. What I looked at would've cost over $20,000, which would not have come close to paying for itself in 2 years, even with the rebates that I know of. I'm very interested, but have t...

You can get them for $139 at KIB (Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, www.kib.org) downtown and support a good cause! The barrels are made by volunteers from a clean, reused barrel that held food-grade material (such as vegetable oil). The KIB employees ...
