Hi Sarah! I hope things are well with you - I enjoy your comments. So did these magnificent beasts exist alongside humans? You are correct in saying that many unconnected cultures present evidence for this idea. If you are open to Biblical referen...

CFL Bulbs and Mercury - Is this stuff as bad as Kryptonite?

Good morning peeps! I've seen this question pop up a few times lately so let's take a look.

"I've heard that CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) contain Mercury. Can this be dangerous if one of the breaks?"

The effects of Kryptonite are obvious if you are the Caped Crusader. Just being near the stuff drains him of his abilities to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Exposure to trace amounts of mercury shouldn't keep you from going "faster than a speeding bullet" (I know because I drive here fr… Continue

Electrical Q&A: Ceiling Fans - What's that other little switch for?

Greetings to all from an igloo in Franklin, Indiana. My commute lasted all of 12 seconds yesterday, and fortunately a neighbor with a shovel was able to assist me in re-parking the vehicle in my driveway. I returned the favor by helping him find his vehicle (it was still in his driveway). I shoveled snow and daydreamed about the snow-blower my other neighbor had offered in her yard sale this past summer. Having originated in Alabama, I still have not quite gotten used to it. I am, however, getti… Continue

Electrical Q&A - CFL Bulbs and Savings

I rolled out of bed this morning expecting to have to drive through a lot of snow in order to get to the office. Instead (in grand Indiana tradition) the snow waited to arrive until I was comfortably snuggled into my chair and writing this blog. As it currently stands, I cannot make out the buildings across the street right now, so I may have to postpone the appointment I have in 10 minutes.

Onto the question: "I've seen those new squiggly looking light bulbs at (fill in the name of a large hom… Continue

Electrical Q&A - Saving Energy Costs

Greetings all! I hope everyone had a great New Year celebration. The greatest disappointment I faced was the simultaneous losses of both the Colts and my Alabama Crimson Tide, but that is but a wee mark upon a glorious holiday season. Let's get to the question, shall we?

Q: The power bill for our business is very high. What can we do to save money?

A: That is a BIG question. There are many ways to reduce the amount of electrical power that is consumed in a business setting. When it comes to sm… Continue

Electrical Q&A - Do I Need A Permit?

I hope everyone is healthy and ready for the holidays! Since the last time we talked (I had been losing weight but have...uh...temporarily suspended my efforts until after this festive season of family, friends, and food has passed) I have had the opportunity to put on yet another hat - a hat that I have worn many times in the past. Many of my friends know that I am a journeyman wireman electrician and that I have worked in the electrical trade for many years. I am proud to announce that I have… Continue

Hi Dave,
It was good meeting you at the B2E. It was a surprise when I finally learned your last name and that we had already communicated. I will give you a buzz about the three of us getting together next week. Maybe Tues or Wed. Do you like Chinese buffett? I haven't been to one on a long time.

Great David! One of our big issues is to revise the net metering regulations in Indiana. Our proposed policy recommendations for net metering can be found at Laura

David:

I noticed you provide financing for equipment and business assets. I'm in a similar industry but on the other side. I own an appraisal company that provides machinery, equipment and business asset valuations. We might be able to throw some business to each other. If you a second drop me a line back. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello David,

I am interested in joining the Freemasons. How can I find a member in either Pendleton or Zionsville (close to where I work) to take the next steps?
