Need a Great Programmer

I have an opportunity for a software developer (maybe two) who wants to do interesting work that will make a real difference to many people.Ideally we want someone who is great with asp, Java, database, and server management.  This job is on the front end of a startup, so it is hourly to start as we grow this business into a monster.  It's at the point where it's beginning to ignite, so now is the time to get in on the ground floor.  Shoot me an email if you're interested at…See More

Probablity and Statistics Assistance Needed

Interesting, short-term project assistance needed from someone with a Probability and Statistics background to use correlation tables and regression analysis from research papers to forcast business results.  Good intern opportunity for math or actuarial student that could lead to more and more opportunities.  Please email me at greg.hiatt@comcast.net.

Looking for Organization Stats

Can anyone point me to a website where I can find statistics on management structures of organizations? Specifically, I am trying to find out (on average) what % of an organization is executive level, what % is senior management level, % of front-line leaders, etc. Would also be good if it was sortable by industry. Thanks, if you can!

What Entrepreneurs and Executives Can Learn From Sailors

Certainly the Navy is not perfect. As in any organization, there are egos and frustrations and resentments. And people make mistakes, and bad things happen. Not everyone agrees with every decision made up the chain of command, or back in Washington, DC. The Navy understands that it is not well-served by squashing free thought, but everyone in the Navy appreciates that there is a time and a place for debate, and the deal is that you are signed up to do what the organization needs you to do once… Continue

Bigger Thinking!

I love belonging to this group. I appreciate the general comments, the different perspectives, the variety of conversations that take place. I love that you are all movers and shakers and that I am getting to know many of you and you are teaching me things every day.

This is a rich group of business-minded people, who seem for the most part genuine and have something that we are passionate about. I learn something every day here. I open my thoughts each day when I visit to see if… Continue

Proud of the Next Generation

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being in the presence of a group of people who inspired me beyond belief. As a Navy Reserve officer, I was recently assigned to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. On Saturday after the "work day" I went to the gym to work out. I went in to find about 300 young men and women who were doing their physical training. Dressed alike in yellow NAVY shirts and blue shorts, they were doing organized calesthenics, physical drills, and singing cadences. Their… Continue

Welcome, to the group. Glad to see you and I hope I can share ideas that make you think, ideas that support your drive for change. As far as confidence, the greatest thing my coach has taught me is to regularly chart my successes. Write down everything you are doing right and go from there.
