Who should preserve our heritage?

Recently, I've been pondering the responsibilities of government. Of course, everything is a matter of choices, but now a local government is taking a poll to find out if taxpayers want them to spend money to save an old barn representative of the culture of the area.

The Town of Avon is polling residents to see if they should spend $25,000 to $50,000 to save an old horse barn that sits in Avon Town Hall Park. The barn is estimated between 30 and 50 years old. It is in need of some roof repair… Continue

Did the media hype the swine flu outbreak?

I'm a news junkie and a student of the art of journalism. The media can certainly over-react to any event, but when it comes to the recent outbreak of swine flu, I think not.

First of all, I pretty much ignore the 24-hour news stations. Their quest for ratings tends to have them blow everything out of proportion from the first 100 days of the Obama administration to the anniversary of Columbine. The same usually holds true for the networks, except for the swine flu outbreak. I personally think… Continue

The importance of Generation Jones

Generation Jones is the generation born between 1954 and 1964 that were formerly lumped in with the Baby Boomers. A very wise sociologists finally began to recognize that Baby Boomers born between the end of World War II and those born in the late 1950s did not share the same life experiences. Yet the number of Jonesers is astounding and it is probably one of the last generations that traditional advertising vehicles will work.

Why is Generation Jones so unique? Come to my new blog and find out… Continue

What's missing from the product or service landscape?

What would you like to see as a new product or service offered here in Central Indiana?

What's missing that you would like to purchase? It could be consumer-oriented such as a restaurant franchise or branch or it could be business oriented such as a service that would help you further your business goals.

This has probably been discussed before, but I think it deserves to be touched upon again.

Gus, I saw you when you stood, but too missed you otherwise. We left early to get relieve the babysitter, rather than my wallet any more.

I love doing lunch. Just let me know when you have some free time and I will clear my schedule for you.
