Jeff, I think this is a wonderful way to "preview" possible candidates and it should really give you a feel for the person you will ultimately choose to work with. Kudos! Shawn

How to hire a Social Media Intern Using Social Media

I've had several Smoosiers contact me about the Social Media Intern post I put up yesterday, so I thought I had better explain it a little more. I am looking for an intern for the Salvation Army. I used the usual channels and go the usual responses: boring, boilerplate, and devoid of any tangible evidence that the applicant understood social media. Social Media Internship

For those of you responding to the Salvation Army's ad for a Social Media Internship:

Okay, you've found me on Smaller Indiana. Did you find me on either of my blogs? Did you find me anywhere else?

1) Find me on 2 more places on the web.
2) Create a Squidoo lens, or Facebook Cause, or a blog about a cause. Any cause. You can make it up or it can be real. I want to see ho… Continue

Mr. Blackwell's Last Laugh

Fashion critic Mr. Blackwell died on Sunday. Family members say he was buried in leather sandals with black dress socks, Bermuda shorts, a white polyester sweater and a dickey. He was 86.

Not-So-Fast Company

Update: Ryan from Fast Company has assured me that copies of the 2 magazines are on the way. Thanks to Fast Company for responding to this issue and taking care of it! Like Brian's comment said, this is how companies should react to complaints. Transparency, action, and sincerity.

Fast Company is the magazine "where ideas and people meet." Apparently, the Company doesn't meet with the people very Fast. On September 23rd, I subscribed to Fast CompaContinue
