I would prefer that we police ourselves. If you do not like what someone says or their opinion, stop reading it or respond to it. If that happens maybe they will find other venues to voice themselves. If you really don't like it, call them out on ...

Great analogy really!! I think Indianapolis at 16 could move up to 12 or 13 maybe (it's big enough to offer what other big cities offer). The real drawback is the weather. That is offset a bit with the entertainment (mainly in the way of sports i...

I have to agree with you Chris. Being somewhere in the middle, due to the factors cited probably is correct. Our goal should maybe not be number 2 but breaking 20! It is sort of like Notre Dame football. If I am a 18 college recruit, do I want to ...

I agree with part and disagree with part. Why is Indiana not the ideal place to do a web-based startup? I know a number of successful web-based startups here, and I'm sure there are many I do not know about as well. I see nothing about Indiana tha...

Should marketing care about cash flow?

Your marketing team needs to look at things differently to help you succeed in a tough market. Think of ways that you can make your customers feel more like part of a team that is helping each other get through these times. If you do that, your bill may not end up on the bottom of the pile.

Competitive Advantage - What is yours?

We all want one? Do we all have one? Can everyone in your organization name it? Can everyone of your customers name it? But it is not only about an organization, if you are looking for a job, what is yours?

Mirror Your Customer - Your Process

In a previous post(this is post 5 of 5), I asked these questions:
1. Do you understand your customers buying process?
2. Does your marketing mirror that process?
3. Do you have specific marketing messages that your customer receives at critical points in that process?
4. If you did, would your marketing be more effective?

Since the buying process is defined by the customer, it should not seem anymore that it is subjective, it is pretty objective at this point based on the previous series of pos… Continue

Hello, I am new to Smaller Indiana and thought I would reach out to connect and say hello. My name is Brandon and I am the Director for Musical Medicine. We build music libraries for hospitals.

Are you planning on attending the Chocolate Blues and Business Networking Festival next Thursday? I hear it's going to be huge, they expect about 1,500 people to attend. It should be a great networking day! I have free tickets, if you need a ticket, let me know and I'll email you one. If you want more details about it, it's listed under events on the 26th.

Have a good day and I look forward to networking with you. Please let me know if I can ever do anything for you,
Brandon

Hey Joe:
I just had a brain fart. I picked up the stuff at Frontline along with several other items and called Wild Hare and talked to your wife and thanked her. Then it dawned on me that it was what you promised.

Thanks so much for the donation to the event tomorrow evening!

Hey Joe, I grew up in Ft. Wayne-- (Go Northrop!) and my mom still lives there, so I often visit.

Next time I'm there, could we meet for a cup of coffee? I got my MA in Philanthropic Studies in December and I am introducing Indy's Not-for-profits to Social Media.

Is it possible to sell something for FREE to Not-For-Profits and make a living? Anyhow, I would like to learn more about how you do it. I am very impressed with your branding, by the way. I am still new, and mine is a work in progress.

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:

1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

4. Events should be posted in the events calendar, not inside blog posts

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog

6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

7. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
