In the spirit of Jane and Michael Stern's book Roadfood and Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives on the Food Network, this group celebrates the great off-the-beaten-path eateries across the state. No chains or fast-food here, just good eatin'.

Water Conservation

There are many ways to conserve water. Some require the use of readily available hardware, and some are simple changes in habit.
~Replace your old toilet with one of the new highly efficient, 1.6 gallon per flush units.
~Replace your old showerhead with a water conserving showerhead. The typical showerhead has a flow rate of five to seven gallons per minute. New water conserving showerheads use 1.6 to 2.5 gallons per minute.

The US EPA is launching its first "Fix a Leak Week" from March 16-20, 2009.

It's a reminder for households to check their plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks that could cost them hundreds of dollars annually in water and sewage bills. The most common culprets of wasted water are toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and other leaking valves.

Hi Kim,
You are so right about leaks and floods. I went way for a week and when I came back I found out my adjoining neighbor's hot water heater broke and the water came into my home though my garage and through the whole house via the slab. So when people are looking for leaks make sure they look in all the rooms and walk around with dry socks on.:)

Kim, you have a very nice picture. I need to get one up for me at Smaller Indiana. How did today go? I will be up next week for sure. I have a realtor, Betty Byrnes attending. I called a lot of Kokomo bizowners in the last few days.
