I used to eat WHILE I worked out all the time. Never had any issues and I was a hardcore weightlifter.

A crowd of truck drivers and mechanics gathered around to watch this attractive young lady scrub down a tractor and trailer hahahaha! Not quite the same thing, but your story reminded me of this classic scene.

Meh. I moved to Indy in 1988 and it most certainly lacked a lot of cultural diversity back then. In 1988, I believe the Black population was around 10% and now it's over 25% I think. Plus, you have a very strong Latin influence here, among others....

Nah, this ain't where the problem lies. And, if anyone is being put down, it is the average, American woman.

I would venture to guess that every single runway model has a fast metabolism and is a natural ectomorph or they wouldn't be up there.

I guess we differ on our definitions on what is 'rare'. It's like, some people think diamonds are rare because that was/is the status quo thing to say; but we know that they are not. But, people still have the belief that diamonds are "precious" t...

Not the women, the industry itself. Although, I suspect most of these models are pretentious themselves so I guess what I said applies.

I wonder if I could pay Eunice to promote me since I'm too lazy to self-promote?

Thin women are "rare and unique"? Since when? They use thin women because they are pretentious, self-serving, and only care about presenting a false-image of what a "real" woman should look like/be like. How exactly is it inspirational? I gotta know.

Paul, have you thought about reaching out to the folks on Yelp.com? Seems to be a really active site for foodies. http://www.yelp.com/indianapolis-in

Does it make you feel better about yourself to take cheap shots at people whom you don't even know? If I had moderator powers, you would be gone. Finito. Banned IP address, or whatever I had to do. Your negativity is nauseating.

I started my undergrad in earnest about eight years after HS. I had a family, worked full-time (plus overtime) and was full of doubt. I wanted an education more than anything, but had no idea if I could do the work, was smart enough, or could cope...

Thank you for this, Steve. I will definitely look into it. I've already checked out the website some; seems feasible at the least.

Tom, I've read many of your posts on SI and you are undoubtedly on-the-ball, well-rounded, and highly intelligent (feel free to gloat a bit). Am I really gonna have to take ENG/MATH/HIST - 101??? Can't I bribe someone so that I don't have to take ...

Currently, I'm working for the Indiana Department of Revenue but it is only a seasonal position (ends around June of '09, but could possibly be extended longer is what I'm told.) so that is part of the reason I am here--i.e. to network with the great minds of Indiana in the hopes that it will lead to a full-time employment opportunity in the near future.

Why join Smaller Indiana? What are you hoping to experience here ?
I'm still trying to figure out how I had not come across this site sooner considering how much time I spend online. Anyways, I've been out of the networking loop for too long so I joined this site to make up for lost time. So far, I think it's great and it looks to be a very valuable tool to all those involved.

I'm hoping to experience the synergistic effect of all the great minds on this site, basically. I help you, you help me. You need another volunteer for a particular upcoming event or for something job-related? Drop me a line and let's talk business.

I'm ready, willing, and able to help you (yes, YOU!) in any way I can with your business, charity, etc. in exchange for any information you can provide to me with the following: career information (careers that are in demand--particularly in Indiana); networking suggestions/job leads/college preparation(student loans, financial aid, etc.)

In closing, thank you for taking the time to read my mini-bio of sorts; I really appreciate it. I look forward to conversing with any/all of you and hope that I can be of some value to your upcoming business ventures, charities, local events, and the like.

Sincerely, Michael Rousseau

Originally from Indiana, but my husband and I moved back up here for family, cost of living, and a better place to raise our 18 month old daughter. :) The "mediocre" weather is pretty nice when you haven't been in it for a long time. Seasons are something that we both wanted again. In South Florida it is hot, hotter, hot again, then hotter again, with a cool night a couple times a year.
