I am reading the Maker's Diet right now. We are trying chiropractic and Mona Vie as alternative solutions. I have a passing interest in organic food aside from Cohn's as well. I look forward to learning more about your operation.

So Mark, I saw Pat Coyle mention your farm and thinks you should be famous. I left this comment on his blog and the offer is real:

I have photo animation software that will make Mark Apple's pretty cows talk - I'll be happy to provide a mini movie if someone else does the voice over, I get called a hefer enough. I'll make the time to promote local food co-ops, because it's important. I constantly twitter to curious pre-vegans, don't delete meat find a better source - LOCAL. I will network with my top ten list of GREEN MULE TRAIN websites to help go viral.
Game ON!

thanks for the info - I'll check into that. Also, Lori & Scott are in town for a couple of days. Thought we might stop out at the farm if you're open tomorrow (Friday). I'll give you a call tomorrow and see if that works.

hi mark,
I must have been picking up a vibe - I was cutting up some pumpkins I had grown so I could cook them up and was thinking how I could make an all-local pumpkin pie that would include eggs from your farm, etc - I hadn't gotten to the cinnamon problem yet. Anyway, nice to hear from you. Hope you are well.
A product question for you - pertaining to that pie crust - do you raise wheat to sell? I have a stone grinder from Montana wheat farm days but I don't have any wheat. I also haven't done any looking to speak of, so I thought I would start by asking you.
Blessings,
Alan

Loyalty, perseverence, and not taking myself too seriously.
What are you working on?
We started our farm with customers' requests, some natural resources available, and enthusiasm, but no business plan. Now we have loyal custumers, great products, and a giant up-side, but we have lacked clear vision. So now I am working on being a good steward of all I am entrusted with, turning this farm into a healthy and prosperous business that is a real blessing to the community.

Adoption Stories from the Farm

No subject melts me like adoption. I am blessed to be a dad through adoption, twice! If you are a Facebook friend you might have read about one of our Apple Family Farm cow share families, Brian and Mandy Harvey, and the incredible journey they are still on in welcoming one of the world's 147 million orphans into their family and into their home. Within a month or so, they will be flying to India to pick up Mia, their daughter, and bring her back to Indiana. If anyone is interested in following… Continue

A Cool Agricultural Mission Project in Indy

This video is of Merlin Gonzales, the founder of Faith, Hope, Love explaining an exciting farming project that FHL did as a trial run this year. This excites me because I have always had a heart for missions, but it has not really occurred to me that there are many mission projects here in Indy, in our own 'backyards.' I have a 250 acre farm that specializes in grass fed beef, lamb, veal, dairy, eggs, and poultry, as well as products from a dozen or so other Hoosier farms that we sell out of our… Continue

Pharming for Phish

Up until about five years ago, I had a side job as a manager at outdoor amphitheaters. My main building was in Nashville, but I also did the Cincinnati and Columbus Ohio facilities, and occasionally subbed here in Noblesville at Verizon Wireless. (I still call it Deer Creek.) Organic farming and the concert business was an odd mix, and only rarely did the two worlds collide. About the only things I remember where there was any crossing over was when we hosted Farm Aid in Columbus. The Farm Aid p… Continue

I Get To Take Part In Another Wonderful Adoption Adventure!

My good friends Brian & Mandy Harvey are living in the midst of an incredible and unfolding miracle. They have been chosen to be Mommy and Daddy to an orphan girl, Mia, born in a hopeless situation in India. Though many miraculous things have taken place to even get to this point, there still remains some huge obstacles that are a heavy weight that Brian & Mandy are bearing. They need about $13,000 to complete the process. They are at the very top of a list of adoptive parents, and a pho… Continue
